Thanks to all the families for your support in Term 1. It is
great to see so many parents at morning assemblies, school assemblies and helping in our school in so many ways. I
hope you have a safe and happy holiday. School returns for
students Tuesday 21 April.
Mrs Luke would welcome additional parents on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning to help with the breakfast
program. Please call in and assist.
GREAT NEWS FOR TERM 2
Staffing has appointed Mrs Sophie Lyons to Franklin.
Sophie is a graduate from Bathurst University. Mrs Lyons will be working 5-6 G for the remainder of the school year.
Mr Brad Gorman has been asked to stay on at Bongongo
School for the remainder of 2015. We wish Brad all the
best. Miss Laura Rampling will continue on 3-4R for the
remainder of the year.
Our additional Year 1 class will be operational day 1 of Term 2. At this stage DEC staffing, have not assigned at
permanent teacher to this position. Mrs Lisa Peirce a
teacher from Victoria who has recently moved to Tumut with her family will be working on the class. Lisa brings a
wealth of experience to the school. She is an experienced
Stage 1 teacher as well as a whole school Performing Arts
Specialist.
PLP BBQ A special thanks to all of our Indigenous families who came along to our

here joining in the games and
taking the time
to speak with
your child and their class teacher. This is an important time where we can
work together to provide the best opportunities for your
children
Mrs Wood, Miss Page,
Miss Gould and myself are busy undertaking
training in How2Learn
this week. This is an
empowering program to ensure we are providing
quality learning opportunities for your children.
KINDER CREATING COLOURFUL LUNCH BAGS
Kindergarten students have been enthusiastically
decorating colourful and creative lunch bags for the Rotary Club for their annual District Assembly in Tumut.

BRIGHT COLOURS, BRIGHT FUTURES!
Last Tuesday there was a sea of colour as Franklin students dressed up in their brightest clothing. Miss Page and
the SRC would like to say a big thank you to all of those students who supported the day by dressing up and
bringing in a gold coin donation or buying a wristband. Altogether students helped to raise $629.65 for the Songs
for Sam Scholarship, a scholarship that aims to support the future of the Tumut community by encouraging and
empowering local people to follow their dreams.

We will be finishing off our Easter theme with more Easter crafts and some EASTER EGGS!! We welcome all our families back in term 2!!

finals. Kade swam in many events. Congratulations!
BASKETBALL Recently students from Franklin PS were selected to travel to Albury for the Riverina Basketball trials.
Sophie Day, Tikirah Douglas, Abby Skein and Leith
Turner participated in the trials, which were attended by students from many different schools in the
Riverina. All girls played well and exhibited skill and
sportsmanship, with Abby Skein making the
‘Possibles/Probables’ team.
