Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are nearly there aer a huge term of many different learning incursions and excursions,

events and acvies. Next week also has a number of acvies planned.

Interhouse Cross Country is planned for Thursday 30 March starng at 8:45am

At Dakabin we are certainly drought breakers! Historically any me we plan an Interhouse

carnival it rains. Mr McNee has suggested we take our events to the drought ridden parts

of western Queensland to give them much needed rain. ☺

Wet Weather Plan—just so parents know we need 2 good dry days for the oval and

grounds to dry out enough to make it safe to run the course. With the much needed rain it

means our oval is boggy and water-logged. We will make a decision on Wednesday morn-

ing about the condion of the oval. Please check on Facebook for details about the event.

Mr McNee has provided more informaon on the next page about mings etc.

Illnesses and Medical Condions

At the moment we have a few nasty bugs around the school. Voming and gastro is one

that is highly contagious and easily passed on from child to child. We ask that if you know

your child is unwell, please don’t send them to

school sick. Somemes it is hard to tell and we

appreciate this.

Head Lice

I know this is the frustraon of many parents.

Head lice need regular a0enon from all par-

ents. We send home the notes to let parents

know that it is present in some children in

their class. We can only reduce this through

the vigilance of parents. Your support is great-

ly appreciated.

Have a great week.

Kind regards, Kelly Jeppesen (Principal)

Parents, It’s Your Turn for Survey Time!

Our information gathering continues and we are now asking for your help. Please read through the information page that has come home with the newsletter; this provides you with more information. If you consent to completing the survey and having your say in what you think is important about our school and for our school, all you have to do is go to the following link: http://www.kidsmatter.edu.au/primary/parentsurvey If completing the survey online is not a viable option for you, we have paper copies available in the office for you to complete and hand back to our office staff or, have your child collect a copy for you to complete at home then return to the office upon completion. There are only 2 pages to this survey so it won’t take too long, but we would ask that you please take enough time to consider your responses so we get the clearest and truest picture possible. The clos-ing date for the survey is Friday, April 28; that’s the end of week 2 of next term.

We thank you, in advance, for your thoughts, your time and your feedback.

Inter House Cross Country 2017 The annual battle for the Cross Country Championship is fast approaching. It will be held on Thursday 30th March (Week 10 of Term 1) commencing at approx. 8.45am. The races will commence with the Prep classes and then progress through the year levels up to Year 6. Par-ents are welcome to run with their children and will also earn points towards the team total. This year for the first time there will be a Champions Race for those students who are 10yrs, 11yrs and 12yrs of age. This is to build on the great success of the Running Club (each morning on average over 100 students participate along with parents and grandparents) and will allow those students who have been working hard at Running Club to have the chance to showcase their skills and determination in an extended race. The Champions Race will be twice around the course of the Year 6 class and will be the selection race for the Cross Country team to compete at the District Championships in Term 2. Entry forms for the Champions Race will be available shortly and will need parental ap-proval before students are allowed to compete. So get your running shoes on and hit the oval for Running Club to get in some training !
