GENERAL INFORMATION. The Cana- dian Journal of Education/Revue Canadienne de l'Education is published four times a year by the Canadian Society for the Study of Education/Societe Canadienne pour l'Etude de l'Education. It is mailed to all members of the CSSE/SCEE, according to the official roster and addresses in Vancouver. Changes of address and subscription orders should be sent directly to the CSSE/SCEE, Faculty of Education, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada v6T 1I5. Annal subscrip- tions for libraries, institutions, and individuals who are not members of the CSSE/SCEE are $24. Single issues are $6. All CJE/RCE material is coprighted by the CSSE/SCEE. Written permission must be obtained from the CSSE/SCEE and the author for copying or reprinting tables, figures, or more than 500 words of text. Manuscripts and corres- pondence relating to current issues of the CJE/RCE should be directed to W. INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS. The Canadian Journal of Education/Revue Cana- dienne de l'Education publishes original re- search reports, theoretical papers, and criti- cal reviews pertaining directly but not neces- sarily exclusively to Canadian education. Manuscripts are typically between io and 30 pages in length. They must be submitted in quadruplicate and be double-spaced through- out (including references and quotations). Manuscripts may be written in either Eng- lish or French and must be accompanied by an abstract of between o00 and 150 words. The author's name should not appear on the manuscript to ensure blind review. Figues and tables should be used only where abso- lutely necessary, and must be provided in camera-ready form. All manuscripts includ- ing references, tables, and figures must be prepared strictly aaccording to the style de- scribed in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (second edition). Spelling should conform to The Senior Dictionary: Dictionary of Canadian English (Gage). Manuscripts not conforming with these instructions will be returned to their authors without review.

DIRECTIVES A L'INTENTION DE NOS COLLABORATEURS. La Revue Canadi- enne de l'Education / Canadian Journal of Education publie des articles scientifiques qui traitent, de maniere directe mais pas force- ment exclusive, de l'education au Canada. Elle accepte tout autant les rapports de re- cherche empirique que les articles theoriques. Les manuscripts comptent ordinairement de I0 a 30 pages. Ils doivent etre presentes en quatre exemplaires et dactylographies en en- tier - bibliographie et citations comprises a double interligne. Ils peuvent etre ecrits en anglais ou en francais et doivent etre accom- pagnes d'un resume de I0oo 150 mots. Pour que le comit6 de redaction puisse porter un jugement impartial, le nom de l'auteur ne doit pas figurer sur les manuscripts.
