    CONCLUSIONS

    If timely action not taken - post harvest loss willincrease with increase in production.

    Inappropriate to set a target for higher productionwithout setting a target for loss reduction.

    NHM working out economically viable time boundprogramme in States except North East, J&K, HP

    and Uttranchal Adopting both traditional and modern PHT

    To obtain 100% utilization of production IntegratedPost Harvest Management (IPHM) is essential.

    We can achieve poverty alleviation, employmentgeneration, environment protection andeconomic transformation of rural India.
