Once again I would like to start off by thanking Kelly and Colleen for asking us to be part of the Gelbvieh Advantage Bull sale. They are great people to work with, and we look forward to continuing our relationship for many years. Last year was the first year of us selling our bulls in town, and they were very well received and it has given us a boost in confidence that we are raising the right type of cattle. 2015 was a very busy year for us as mother nature was as unpredictable as ever, from near drought in the late spring to near flooding in the early fall rounding up feed was as challenging as ever. Just before Christmas we welcomed a new cow boss to the Ranch. Brynnley Jay Muhlbach was born on December 17 2015. The black bulls in our offering are from our main herdsire JOE Third Edition 423Z. Homo-polled and homo-black, he is one of the easiest fleshing bulls I have ever seen. For a little chubby bull he is very athletic. His stride is so smooth he covers a lot of ground with no effort. He is very moderate but packed full of red meat and with a ton of style and he has stamped his sons the same with tremendous consistency. This group of bulls we are consigning this year are more moderate in frame size but still have a ton of thickness, style, hair performance and overall eye appeal. We, at BNH Livestock, are excited to be an official part of the Gelbvieh Advantage Bull Sale this year and show everyone what we have to offer. Although many may have known us in the past as part of Brittain Farms, we now have our own identity as BNH Livestock and operate off of our own farm, just outside of Innisfail, AB. The main focus in our herd is quality and not quantity with a main cow base of 30-35 purebred and percentage females. Our operation is very much family oriented and we are proud of our cattle. We moved our calving back to April, May, which in turn allows for us to raise our kids along with our cattle and this is truly what we believe farming should be. The cattle are use to being run on intense pasture grazing and handled often which means that temperament plays a huge factor. We pasture 30-35 cow/calf pairs on 40 acres throughout the summer and then calves are dry lotted throughout the winter, being slowly developed on a dry hay/grower ration. The year-ling bulls are then turned back out to grass to develop out and return back in to the pens when the cows come in that fall. We believe that our bulls compliment what the Gelbvieh Advantage Bull Sale already has to offer, by giving that little extra age that some producers would like in their herdsires. All of our bulls come semen checked, vet test-ed and guaranteed. We are excited to visit with as many people as possible come sale day and should you have any questions prior to the sale please feel free to give us a call or drop in at the farm to check out the cattle. Beyond Limits is a dark red, long spined bull that is one you will look twice at every time. He comes with natural thickness from his dam and granddam, Labamba 27U. We purchased Labamba from Unger Land and Livestock’s dispersal sale and she has really made a name for herself. She is a cow that you will not miss in our pasture! Her thickness, spring of rib and easy fleshing ability, combined with the fact that she can easily reproduce herself, which is always what we look for in that stand-out cow! They just keep getting better, we are excited to see what Beyond Limits can do as there truly is no limits when it comes to this cow family.
