SOLE TRADERS
Sole traders can use either organisation or individual profiles, although it’s easier for them to set up an individual one if they’re not limited, organisation profiles ask for a lot more information than for individuals. If an individual sole trader has a bank account in the name ‘John Smith T/A [trading as] Artsco’, they can have an individual profile. We can accept the bank account if it clearly includes their individual name. If an individual has a limited company in their applicant or bank account name (their applicant name and/or bank account is clearly in a name like ‘John Smith T/A XYZ Ltd’), they should have an organisation profile.
Creating an APPLICANT PROFILE
PARTNERSHIPS
If you're not a part of a limited partnership or limited liability partnership (LLP), and don't have a bank account in the name of your organisation, then your profile should be an individual one. It’s okay for an individual to take the lead in applying on behalf of other members.
If you have a bank account in the name of your organisation, can apply as an organisation, selecting 'unincorporated group' as the type. The appropriate governing document for an unincorporated group is a constitution, but this can just be a set of rules which sets out the aims of the group, signed by the members.

Monitoring Information - things to look out for:
➔ Make sure that the same number of people are represented in each
section of the monitoring information.
➔ In the disability section there is a field for 'not deaf or disabled' – this
sometimes catches people out.
➔ If nobody has a different gender from that which it was assumed to be
at birth put '0' (zero) in this area.
➔ Make sure you answer yes/no to the questions on how your
organisation is led.
