The school facilities provide a platform for Taekwondoo, Basket Ball, Skating, Swimming, Chess and Cricket under the aegis of Chandu Borde Global Cricket Academy.

“The whole idea of playing friendly cricket match against another good school in the vicinity was to have our children exposed to competition and give them the motivation to try to better their efforts and hone their skills better. Today playing on Home ground, GIIS Noida has faced a mild challenge. The intensity of this challenge will be stepped up in the next round when they play on another school ground.”

Van Mahotsav, a week-long festival of tree plantation is organized every year in the first week of July across India when millions of trees are planted. This movement was initiated in the year 1950 by India's Union Minister for Agriculture, Kulapati Dr. K M Munshi.

The celebration of Van Mahotsav Week at GIIS Noida was an ideal opportunity to instil the value of personal and social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees and forests. The focus of the celebration was towards forming a personal connect between the students and mother nature through a process of experience, reflection and creation, which was carried out through various activities. The students of class III were handed over some old newspapers which they used along with decorative materials to make attractive and innovative paper bags. This activity sensitised the students to the fact that old newspapers can be recycled and used as better alternative to plastic bags that are harmful for the environment. The students of class IV participated in bookmark making activity. They brought old pictures, greeting cards, used chart papers, pamphlets, cardboard pieces to make bookmarks. They also brought different items like mirrors, stars, stickers etc to decorate the bookmarks. Each bookmark had an eco-friendly message like ‘use paper bags’, ‘save earth’, ‘save water’, ‘do not waste electricity’

etc. This activity reiterated the need to be sensitive towards our natural environment.Students of class V presented different types of medicinal plants like Neem, Aloe Vera, Basil and Giloy leaves. Every member of the group spoke on the medicinal values of each plant that he or she presented. It was an educative and informative session for the entire class.Students of class VI participated in poster making competition to promote environmental awareness. The whole class was divided into 5 groups. Each group made a poster on the topic ‘GREEN EARTH, CLEAN EARTH’. Each poster had a unique story to tell and overall spread the message that the green planet they live in, must be protected and cared for.A massive plantation drive within the GIIS Noida premises was led by students of Class VII. They went around the school holding tiny saplings and water cans. Each student planted a sapling. Then they went back to their classrooms and participated in a discussion on the importance of trees in our life. They promised to spread the message of green cover amongst their friends and families.
