General Information
-Art exhibit will be held at the Goodyear
Branch Library, 14455 W. Van Buren C101,
Goodyear, AZ 85338.
-Entries must be original artwork and cannot
defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of
any person, living or deceased, or otherwise
infringe upon any person’s personal or
property rights or any other third party rights.
-The City of Goodyear reserves the right to
disqualify any entry that it deems offensive or
not suitable for display.
-By submitting an entry, the City of Goodyear
will have limited rights to distribute the image
for reproduction in City promotional materials
and on the website. The City is hereby
granted permission, by the entrant, the use
of the reproduced image.
-The City is not responsible for any damage
occurring in transit. Exhibitors are
responsible for providing coverage for items
exhibited at their own risk.
-Artwork will be juried by a panel of arts
professionals, City staff, and members of the
academic community. Judging criteria will
include adherence to the theme, originality,
artistic quality, and composition.
-Artist will include completed application,
waiver form, and Artist Statement with the
submission of images for consideration.

Show Details Alphabet Soup… brings to mind the fun letters that float to the top in a childhood favorite soup. Many artists have used words and letters to create contemporary artworks. Artists such as Robert Indiana, Jasper Johns, and Andy Warhol took letterforms and made them the star of the composition. This show invites artists and writers to use words, letters, and numbers in their artwork to create compositions that make us want to sing the A,B,C’s. Works can be simple and iconic or be as detailed as an illuminated manuscript. We invite all artists to interpret the theme as they wish by making letters the star. -Open to all West Valley artists. Artists must be 18 years of age. -Up to two submissions will be accepted. -Submittal should include application, waiver form, artist statement and digital images of artwork. Images will be submitted by email to [email protected] Color copies (minimum size 5x7) or compact disc may be dropped off or mailed to Parks & Rec Administration Office, 14455 W. Van Buren C103 Goodyear AZ 85338. Applications and waiver can be downloaded at www.goodyearaz.gov/artistapplication Requirements -Any 2-Dimensional work -Each submission will include: title of art work, year created, medium, and name of artist. -Submissions will include an artist statement and/or description of art work (maximum 200 words). -Work must be in presentation format with hard-ware included for proper hanging and displaying.
