ThePTOcontinuestohonoritscommitmenttohavefewer,butmoreeffective
fundraisers.Thisyear,weplantocontinueourfourmajorfundraisers:Tax
DeductionCampaign(ongoing),FallFestival(October13th),LynxLaps(November
16th)andFAANAuction(March28th).Wehopethesefundraiserswillcontinueto
raiseenoughmoneytomeetourbudgetsowewillnotneedtoaddadditional
fundraisers.
Becauseofparticipationfromparentslikeyou,thePTOhasrecentlypaidfor
upgradestotheoutside(KindergartenPlayground,UpperPlayground,Basketball
hoops)andinside(Frontlobby,Teacher’slounge,Hallwaypainting).Inthepast
coupleofyearsweaddednewprogramming(FineArts&AuctionNight,Movie
Night).Whoknowswherethisyearwillleadus,especiallywithyourhelp.
Wealsocontinuetopledgeoursupporttotheprogramsthatyourkidsandteachers
knowandlove(ArtMasterpiece,fieldtrips,CoreKnowledgeactivities,technology,
AR,StudyIsland,teachertraining,andsupplies).ThisyearthePTOhasalsotaken
overtheSTEMprogramandismakingsurethatscience,technology,engineering
andmathareanimportantpartofyourchild’seducation.CheckoutthePTObudget

Attention All Parents: Grayhawk PTO is in need of your help to fill open positions.
Being a part of PTO is a great way to get to know the principal, teachers and other parents in the school.
Room Parents: Help special area teachers (PE, Art, Music, Specials, Speech, Resource/Reading, Honors, and Band/Strings). Would help for the whole year to ensure that these teachers are represented for special events, birthdays, holidays, and teacher appreciation week.
Dining Out Position: Responsible for contacting area restaurants to set up dates when Grayhawk families can visit their establishments and in return, the restaurant will donate a percentage back to the PTO. Also responsible for advertising for each of the events with flyers and electronic reminders.
School Pictures: Responsible for organizing photographers and scheduling students for photos. We need someone to shadow the current chair this year to be able to take the lead next year.

Volunteer Opportunities (Approximate time commitment is noted to help you plan)
Art Masterpiece: 1 hour per project – once a month or once a year, flexible. Volunteer in your child’s classroom. Helpers and Presenters are needed to work with student art projects. Grade Level Coordinators are needed for Kindergarten and 3rd Grade. We have everything you need to help you be successful. No prior experience necessary. Contact: Cinde O’Hara – [email protected] Copy Cats: 1 hour per week. We help our teachers by helping out in the workroom. Volunteers are needed throughout the week. Contact: Nicole Sehnal – [email protected] Dad’s Club: 2 hours quarterly. Activities include volunteering during recess and at multiple school/PTO events. We are always looking for new ideas and new members. Contact: Mark Eisenhut – [email protected] Friday Treats: 1 hour once or twice per month. Provide assistance on Fridays from 3-3:45 in the back of the school to oversee venders and help sell the treats. Contact: Cari Green – [email protected] Hospitality: 2 hours quarterly. Help with teacher lunches and dinners. Planning, cooking and cleanup helpers are needed. Contact: Rustina Knutzon – [email protected] Library Helpers: Pick a time weekly, bi-weekly or monthly or come in when you have a few minutes to spare. Help kids select books and keep the stacks tidy. Contact: Mandy Chapin – [email protected] PTO Bin/Mailroom: ½ hour per week. Help distribute various PTO correspondences. Contact: Lisa Iacono – [email protected] Yearbook: Grade Level Coordinator - 1hour per month. Helps design the yearbook pages for designated grade. Class Photographer - ½ hour per month. Takes photos in designated classroom for parties, etc. General Photographer - ½ hour per month. Takes photos of scheduled events like Fall Festival and Lynx Laps. Interested in making a tax deductible donation where 100% goes towards your child's education? You now have an opportunity to donate directly to the PTO throughout the year. In order to provide the same level of excellence you've come to expect at Grayhawk, we need to raise over $85,000 this year. This funds programs such as AR, Study Island, building improvements, after-school tutoring programs, Core Knowledge activities, field trips, classroom supplies, technology, Art Masterpiece, teacher training, and assemblies...just to name a few. In order to cover our expenses a suggested donation of $100.00 per child would be much appreciated. However we are grateful for as little or as much as you can provide. This donation can be made in one lump sum or incrementally throughout the year. This tax-deductible donation is completely optional. Our goal is to give families a variety of choices in order to support our school and the tax deductible program is one of them. This program is completely separate and not affiliated with the AZ State Tax Credit. In addition to participating in the tax deductible donation program now, there will be another opportunity in November to make a tax deductible donation to our Lynx Laps fun run. Both fundraisers are completely separate and any donation made is optional.

Celebrate your child’s birthday with their name
in lights. The front marquee will now scroll the names of birthday students for the
week of their birthday for $10.00. Plus, new this year, every student will be recognized on morning
announcements on their birthday and get a prize from Mrs. Pavlik.
