YEAR SIX CLASS OF THE YEAR

As one of Wave FM”s promotional competitions they are offering one class the opportunity to have an

excursion to Luna Park. Mrs Eshman has nominated 6E as she believes them to have been excellent

leaders and support to all students and staff this year. 6E are asking all families to vote for them on the

Wave FM site in order for them win this fabulous prize. Voting opens on Friday morning November 15,

and you are able to vote as many times as you wish. Thank you to all for supporting our senior students.

LOST PROPERTY

Lost property is overflowing, especially with size 10 and 12 new tracksuit tops. If your child is missing an

item of clothing please ask them to look in the lost property basket. Please label the students’ clothing so

that items can be returned to them.

EXCURSIONS

Please be aware that permission notes have been sent home recently for the Stage 2 Excursion to the

Bicycle Park and Stage 1 Excursion to the Science Centre. If you have not received a note please ask at the

Office.

MONEY COLLECTION NEW CHANGES

All money will need to be clearly labelled with your child’s name, class and the activity and placed in

the wooden box in the Office on arrival at school before the first bell. Please have correct money in the

envelope as we do not have change facilities.

AFL

This week was our last week of the AFL program that our school was involved in. All Children K-6 learnt

the basic skills to play the game of AFL. I would like to thank Stuart and his team for providing the

children with this opportunity and the balls that each child will receive.

Next year we will be providing a morning program that runs for 6 weeks and costs $10 and all children

will receive their own AFL ball and bag.

ACTIVE AFTER SCHOOLS PROGRAM

This Term we have been running a golf program. Over the past couple of weeks we have seen so many

children having fun and learning a new sport. healthy snacks.

We have gained funding to run this program next year .

GREEN TEAM Our Green Team have busy lately tidying and tending our school veggie and fruit garden. They have been

working very hard and I can’t wait to taste some of that fresh produce. Great Work Green Team!

Our Green Team will also be working with The Illawarra Conservation Group to tidy up sections of our

playground.

Have you walked around the school grounds lately? Well, Mrs Groves has been busy planting some of the

Agapanthus, Hydrangeas and Cliveas that she and husband, Ron, have donated to the school and which

will require regular watering to get them established. She has done a fine job and The Green team will

continue to maintain them. Thank you also to the Anagnostopoulos family for preparing a garden bed for

planting and for Mrs Anagnostopoulos for helping Mrs Groves put the plants in this bed.

TALENT SHOW

We are hoping to start rehearsals next week for the talent show (Wednesday, November 20). We are still

looking for more children to enter. If you are interested just write your name and the act that you will be

doing and hand in to Mrs Devlin or Mrs Eshman by Friday, February 15 2014.
