Our lives are so time and duty bound that we feel imprisoned in them. God, we don't feel ready to take the journey of discipleship to which Christ calls us. We need more time! Forgive us, Lord, when we place so many "duties" in the path of serving you. Reset our priorities, so that we will be ready to commit our lives in your service. Lord, help us to courageously answer your call and to trust in your leading. In Jesusname. Amen. L: Loving, God, you have promised to be our God and ask us to be your people and to trust in you. But we find many excuses to prevent us from really trusting you. We erect barriers before our faith journey even begins. Our time, obligation, and energy all become part of the bricks and mortar which build this barrier. Since January 2011, Our Saviors Lutheran Church has shared a special relationship as a sister congregation to Living Grace. Living Grace continues to grow and become more established. Our mission of the month offering in March will be an affirmation toward their continued ministry. Our Evangelical Lutheran Church in America starts new congregations every year and these new starts are funded by established congregations who give generously. Please give to this ministry on Sunday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 21, in worship. Life Line Screening We are once again hosting a Life Line Screening visit day on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Life Line Screening goes beyond regular checkups to look inside your arteries. All five screening are $139 (carotid artery, heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, and osteoporosis risk) It is painless and non-invasive. To pre-register (required) call 1-866-229-0469 or go online to www.lifelinescreening.com/ community circle. We have four complementary screening vouchers for ONE individual screening test available for church members only who are interested in this event. Minnesota Food Share Month This March 2018, we join food shelves, faith communities, businesses, and organizations across Minnesota in acting to end hunger and food insecurity. Please bring nonperishable items for Dorothy Day Food Pantry, our local food shelf and/or monetary donations throughout March. A table will be set up in the back of the sanctuary for your non-perishable food donations. Monetary donations should be marked MN March Food Share and placed in the offering basket or in the church office. Together, we can ensure #FoodForAll MN. Taking Action Against Hunger in Minnesota. Give Generously for Lent & Easter Lent and Easter are times where we especially give out of gratitude for Christs presence in our lives. Often people ask if there are any specific needs the church has to sustain its mission and ministry. The General Fund of the congregation is always a place to contribute to the day-to-day operations of our faith community. Two other significant areas of giving include: 1) building maintenance and repairs; and 2) the commercial loan. All of these areas are front and center for our Church Council on a monthly basis. If you would like to give specifically to one of these areas of ministry, please indicate your desire on the memo line of your check. Thank you for all the ways you bless the ministry of Our Saviors and the mission we share!

Give Generously for Lent & Easter

Lent and Easter are times where we especially give out of gratitude for

Christ’s presence in our lives. Often people ask if there are any specific

needs the church has to sustain its mission and ministry. The General

Fund of the congregation is always a place to contribute to the day-to-day

operations of our faith community. Two other significant areas of giving

please indicate your desire on the memo line of your check. Thank you for

all the ways you bless the ministry of Our Savior’s and the mission we

share!

* Apostles’ Creed

C: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was

conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered

under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he

descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he

ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion

of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and

the life everlasting. Amen.

* Prayers of the Community

L: Lord, in your mercy,

C: Hear our prayer.

Thanksgiving Moment

Meal

Offering

(8:30 a.m.) When I Survey the Wondrous Cross arr. Kevin Sadowski

(10:30 a.m.) What Have We to Offer

Offering Prayer

C: Merciful God, receive the sacrifice of our praise and thanksgiving

and the offering of our lives, that following in the way of the cross,

we may know the joy of the resurrection; through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

* Words of Institution

Lord’s Prayer

C: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom

come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day

our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those

who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver

us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

forever and ever. Amen.

Distribution of Communion

Wherever you are on the journey, this sacrament is God’s gift to you. Holy

Communion is a gift of grace to the baptized community. If your child

receives communion, please help them or remind them to hold their hand

open, palm up to receive the bread. The gluten-free and non-fermented

Sacraments are available in the center of the communion trays. Please tell

an usher if you wish to have communion brought to you in the pew. All

guests and visitors are welcome to receive the gift of grace.

allowing our time constraints and weak commitments to loom largely

before us. Help us to tear down this barrier. Replace the fear in our

hearts with a sense of joy, as we accept the challenging journey of

discipleship. Remind us that as we serve you and help others, we will

also find ourselves made more fully whole. Make us ready to receive

your good news and to be witnesses of your love to all your people.

Amen.

* Prayer of the Day

C: O God, with steadfast love you draw us to yourself, and in mercy

you receive our prayers. Strengthen us to bring forth the fruits of

the Spirit, that through life and death we may live in your Son, Jesus

Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the

Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
