HFS Racing Team

Who is HFS?

We are elite students from the Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University aiming to combine

our studies with exposure to a real world engineering project by participating in Formula

Student Competition.

In 2010, HFS was the first Egyptian, Arabian & African Team to build a formula style racing

car participating in the biggest motorsport event for students in the world.

Vision: Is to lead Automotive Manufacturing in Egypt and Middle East by building the first

Egyptian Factory in the Area.

Mission: In order to achieve our vision we had to prove to the world that we have enough

creativity to do it, so we oriented to the formula student competition as a sign for what we

believe and what we are capable of.

Objectives: 1- Spreading manufacturing culture in our industrial society.

2- Fabricate a whole new running car.

3- Build a solid based managed team.

What is Formula Student?

Itis the largest student motorsport event in the world. With over 130 teams, it's a breeding

ground for innovative and enterprising engineers.

Backed by a diverse range of industries and high-profile engineers, such as our Patron,

Ross Brawn OBE, Team Principal, MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, FS aims to

inspire and develop world-class engineers.

Students are challenged to design and build a single-seat racing car. And Competing with

their car’s performance, design and sustainability as well as the students’ ability to

present their business case, is assessed.

At FS, our competitors gain crucial practical experience and transferable skills,

preparing them for employment in a diverse range of industries.

Formula Student is world’s largest student motorsport event that comes to the

world-famous Silverstone circuit.

July 7 - 13, 2017

More than 150 teams from 37 countries is participating.

Reaching over 3000 entrants and 1500 attendees and spectators.

2- Global Hybrid Electric Challenge Egypt

Global EEE is non-profit organization with headquarters in Washington DC.

It is the organization behind the organization, and since 1987, its members have helped

organize competitions around the world that promote

Education, Energy efficiency, and Environmental consciousness (EEE)

The Competition has taken place in Egypt for the first time in March 2016 .

GHEC-E will be held from 10 until 13 March 2017 in Soma Bay –Hurgada.

The winner in this competition will be representing Egypt in the GHEC

Middle East which will be taking place in UAE and the winner will be participating in the

global challenge in Washington DC.

3- 2017 SOMABAY EGYPTIAN SOLAR CHALLENGE

Flashback from 2015 Abu Dhabi Solar Challenge (ADSC)

The Somabay Egyptian Solar Challenge (SESC) is an ISF recognized collegiate

competition that will take place in Egypt on 17-21 March 2017. It is the second event

to be held as part of the United Solar Challenge (USC), and will coincide with

the 2017 Global Hybrid-Electric Challenge - Egypt. Prequalifying will be held 14-16

March through a number of static and dynamic scrutineering and qualifying

sessions, with the cars competing head-to-head for pole position on the final day of

qualifications. The SESC will start and finish at the beautiful Somabay Red Sea

resort on the first four days, and will end in Cairo on the fifth (final) day. On their

finish in Cairo the cars will parade in finishing order to the ancient Pyramids at the

Giza Plateau.

Helwan University Racing Team will be in a partnership with Nuon Team – Delft

University.

4- AUTOMECH Formula Al-Ahram

It is the premier and the most prestigious event for the automotive industries in

the Middle East and North Africa with tremendous companies attends.

Place: Cairo International Convention Centre.

Time: 13-18 march.

Visitors: more than 500000.

Exhibitors: about 50 companies.
