Start by showing my books that deal with Energy Waves/ and Architecture:

Designing with Light (light waves)&

Shape of Sound (sound waves)

Designing with Light, 2006

Where I started re: Studying Energy and Energy Waves:

Pages from DWL :

Dr. Lene Hau (light);

Arvo Part (White Light);

Stephen Vitiello (World Trade Center Recordings);

Robert Wilson (Stage Director + Playwright – Einstein o.t. Beach)

Light Images from DWL : Herzog and DeMeuron; Moshe Safdie

My latest book:

Shape of Sound, 2014

hMa’s WaveLine - Building developed thru studies of Energy Waves

Architects Howeler and Yoon - Sound and Light studies

Sound Artist - David Dunn: Sound to Heal Damaged EcoSystem

Composer - Arvo Part: Silentium: Silence (the base condition for sound)

Dr. Lene Hau : Experiment :

stop a light pulse -

then restart it

Infinity Chapel, Greenwich Village, NYC :

Uncertainty of light and sound sources remove edges of the space

Lack of Edge creates infinite, fluid space : Liminal Space

Infinity Chapel: Light and Sound Diagrams

Michael Schumacher Steven Vitiello

DWi-P: Event Horizon of internet cell-phone connectivity thru glass façade BPC

DWI-P: hMa with GCE Engineers - Use Electrostatic Film for Smart Phone connectivity

Biomorphic Electrostatic skin on Chameleons : color change related to environmental factors

DWi-P: Electrostatic skin embedded in Glass creates Smart Phone connectivity

BIOMIMICRY

Chameleon adapts to surroundings and changes color

Smart glass adapts to light and changes color

Electostatic Film also can cause patterns to emerge, and create coloration changes, similar to the Chameleon

Temperature responsive glass

Chattanooga Nature Interpretive Center: Building Designed in Response to Temperature, Sunlight, Water Collection, and other natural factors

Bio-morphic solar panels based on leaves Cyborg Technologies: Enhanced Human Performance Connectivity to the Programmable World

Biomorphic Design and the development of Solar Panels based on Leaf Forms

Biomorphic research allows for ‘cross species’ enhancement : leg enhancement based on insect locomotion

This leads into Cyborg Technologies

Cyborg Technologies:

Human Enhancement will extend to the ‘Sensor Revolution’ and Yes –

you will be connected to your Toaster

Leonardo da Vinci :: a self-taught Engineer

Designed this humanoid automaton for warfare ca. 1495

Robotics – Cyborg Technologies Warfare Design

Robotics for Smart Homes - Living Environments : the 21st century vision of Elysium

An Innovation related to Warfare

City as a Computer Chip

Cyborg Technologies begin as Societies investigate New approaches to Warfare

Cyborg Enhancements coming online for everyone: Google Glasses;

Google Self-Driving Cars

Dr. Steve Mann from the University of Toronto (2004) world’s first ‘enhanced human’ or Cyborg : use of Memory Enhancement Glasses

Dr. Kevin Warwick from the University of Reading, UK – who started implanting himself with sensors in 1998

Jesse Sullivan who has artificial limbs wired into his own sensory systems to feel hot and cold

Jens Naumann who lost his sight but now can see through and artificial vision system

Robotic Limbs

New Institutes that are Developing the New Technologies for Human Dwelling:

FLinT :Center for Fundamental Living Technology

Mission: Assemble the Components for Minimal Living SystemsThrough the Chemistry of Life-Like Systems

Life-Cycle Simulations:

Simulations of the self-replicating nanocells that not only metabolize, but also generate inheritable genetic information

Biomimetic Reactors:

Catalytic Networks and Energy Harvesting Capabilities placed into an Integrated system.

FL in T: Use of Computer Simulations to create artificial life-forms to Develop new Biological Systems to Enhance and Improve Existing Human

Systems

‘NBIC: Nano - Bio - Info - Cogno’

Ant Colony Networks ::

Ants use algorithms to regulate foraging, a pattern similar to TCP – ‘Traffic Control Protocol’ – used to regulate Internet data traffic. Ant protocols - ways that human engineers can improve data networks within Smart Homes. Ring networks – used by ants - more secure than linear networks: much easier to repair when a piece within the larger network collapses

Ring Networks allow for the continuing functionality of a system, even as parts of the system go down. The flexibility of the ring relationships is a better way of wiring Smart House systems

‘Smart’ Water Meter

Smart Grid Connectivity via Ring Networks

vs. Existing Linear Networks –

Ring Networks are stable //

Linear Networks are Prone to Crashing
