Hope is a tenuous and fragile thing that circumstances can bolster or diminish.
Hopelessness is a common trait of many of the boys and girls who come to Eagle Ranch.
Whether it be a difficult family situation, struggles with friendships or in the academic setting, things can seem overwhelming.
If there's one thing about life, it’s that there will always be circumstances to navigate, both good and bad. Basing our emotions on changing circumstances can be like riding a roller coaster—up one second and down the next.
I'm reminded of a hope that never disappoints, and it’s echoed in those ancient words by the prophet Jeremiah, "'I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'Plans to give you a hope and a future.'" The hope that God brings to our boys and girls and their families is based on the word of the Voice that never disappoints in the midst of a changing world.
Thank you so much for investing here—it's truly making a difference. God's blessings to you and your family.
Reflections
Sincerely,
Edwin J. Staub Founder and Executive Director

If hope could be a color, it would be blue, as intriguing as the moon.
If hope could be a taste, it would taste like orange juice on a warm summer afternoon.
If hope could be a smell, it would be morning dew fallen on the grass from the great wide blue.
If hope could be a sound, it would be a dove's coo laughing through the mountains all around.
If hope could be a feeling, it would be the chill and cool
like all of the ice in a cup of honeydew.
If hope could be an animal, it would be a dog. It would run all day and tirelessly play and in the end,
still be there for you.

If hope could be a color, it would be blue as beautiful and relaxing as a waterfall.
If hope could be a taste, it would taste just like a cold Coke
dripping down my throat, waking me up.
If hope could be a smell, it would be the new fall candles starting
the beginning of boots and scarves.
If hope could be a sound, it would be the beginning of 12Stone church opening,
having everyone come to their feet in worship.
If hope could be a feeling, it would be full of joy from winning cheer off,
running up toward the trophy in excitement.
If hope could be an animal, it would be a cat,
gently purring on my lap.
If hope could be anything, it would be a promise.
I felt like it needed to be on the lake, because the lake was so serene. But there were just so many good sites from which to choose.
The area where the chapel sits today was completely untouched during the time we searched for a chapel site. There was no road coming through that area of the property.
Celebrating 30 Years:The Trinity Tree
I was walking through the woods one day and came upon a very unusual tree—a three-pronged, red oak.
I had never seen anything quite like it before or since and took it as sign that my Trinity Tree, had given me the clarity as to where the chapel needed to be.
-Eddie Staub
The chapel— it’s a place to go to heal. It’s a place both to confess and be blessed. You just say, “I’m coming here to change. I know things need to be a little different.” And with that there’s an expec-tation that God would hear and would act and would move in that place. Not that God has a set destination for us to pray, but there’s something to the ambiance and the setting itself. Physically positioning yourself in an environment where the expectation is more tangibly felt changes things.
Shane Sullards Eagle Ranch Graduatecelebrating 30 years
I always knew Eagle Ranch should have a chapel on the property. And, just as there was a special location for the Ranch itself, I knew the site for the
chapel would be special. I just wasn’t quite sure exactly where it needed to be.

If hope could be a color, it would be red, as warm as the sun on my pale skin.
If hope could be a taste, it would be like a homemade dish—
one that is savored forever.
If hope could be a smell, it would be warm vanilla sugar
from your childhood days.
If hope could be a sound, it would be a perfect chord that you mistakenly play.
If hope could be a feeling, it would be a longing for
a loved one's touch.
If hope could be an animal, it would be a newborn calf experiencing
its world as it slowly opens its eyes.
If hope could be a color, it would be yellow, as bright as sunshine.
If hope could be a taste, it would taste like warm apple pie.
If hope could be a smell, it would smell like a light morning ocean breeze in the morning.
If hope could be a sound, it would sound like waves crashing on a windy day.
If hope could be a feeling, it would feel like happiness— like a family member coming home safe from a war.
If hope could be an animal, it would be a manatee, loving and gentle.

If hope could be a color, it would be blue, as deep and
graceful as the Heaven above. If hope could be a taste, it
would be cold tea on a Friday night, rocking away my worries.
If hope could be a smell, it would be fresh made coffee,
enjoying the goodness of God's grace.
If hope could be a sound, it would be my grandmother's
voice guiding me with words of wisdom.
If hope could be a feeling, it would be the touch
of true love, overcoming with happiness.
If hope could be an animal, it would be a peacock,
showing off its colors of God's greatness.

If hope could be a color, it would be green as
a tender crisp spring leaflet.
If hope could be a taste, it would taste just like a
salty bead of sweat dripping down off my brow.
If hope could be a smell, it would be freshly tilled soil
waiting to be a bearer of new life.
If hope could be a sound, it would be the chime
of one hundred church bells calling out to the morning sun.
If hope could be a feeling, it would be a tender kiss
under a lamppost under the night stars.
If hope could be an animal, it would be a hummingbird
drinking in the sweet nectar of a flower.
