Sundays, we think, are the only time we can ‘catch up’. So, I work on weekends. I shop. I clean. I work on the house and the yard. This Sept. 25th through Nov. 3rd, Atlanta area Christians will once again join hundreds of thousands of fellow Christians in numerous countries in bringing the love and hope of Jesus to clients and staff at abortion clinics through peaceful, loving, legal prayer vigil (not protest). You could help save a life! Many clients change their minds and accept help! We need you to help fill the hours of our local public prayer vigil between 6am and 10pm daily across from Feminist Women's Health Center (1924 Cliff Valley Way - near IHM). Those unable to join the public prayer vigil can sign up for daily brief prayers received via email. Three kickoff events: Sunday Sept. 22, starting at 6pm with vespers, at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church followed by free dinner (RSVP by Sept. 15th); Wednesday, Sept. 25th, 6:30-7:30am across from the clinic, led by Pastor Kipper Tabb of Perimeter Presbyterian Church; and again at 10am led by Fr. Brian Baker of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta. At the beginning of July 2019 the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Atlanta implemented the Tribunal Advocacy Program.
The Archdiocese trains lay persons and deacons to serve as advocates for individuals requesting a declaration of nullity of marriage, commonly referred to as an annulment. These advocates provide canonical counsel to those asking for an annulment, and they have a role in the canonical trial of the cases. They defend the rights of these petitioners and help their cases advance in the nullity process. Currently, there is no one from Holy Cross serving as a Tribunal Advocate. In addition to good organizational, reading and writing skills, a legal background would be an excellent qualification to undertake this service. The next AARP Driver Safety Course will be offered on Tuesday, October 29th from 9am - 3pm. Participants pay at the door anD must bring lunch.
