Divine Mercy Parish Mission

Thank you to everyone who

attended the Divine Mercy

Parish Mission. It was a

success ! A special thank you

to Father Dan Cambra for

his informative, humorous

and thought provoking talks

on the Divine Mercy Chaplet

and its beginnings.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet

itself is so moving, and when

all of the voices in the con-

gregation joined in with Fa-

ther Mark and the Cantor, it

was simply too beautiful to

express. Hearts were filled

with Jesus’ love.

PRIESTS’ RETIREMENT FUND COLLECTION:

The weekend of May 14 & 15 we will hold a special collection for the Diocesan

Priests’ Retirement Fund. This fund is becoming vital as more and more of

our priests reach the age of retirement. Your donation will be used to support

the many fine priests who have dedicated their lives to service of the faithful

of Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. You can meet four of our retired

priests; Fr. Raymond Forester, Msgr. Daniel McGlynn, Fr. Leonard Kempski and Fr. Edward Stork,

and learn about their ministry on a short video posted on the diocesan website, cdow.org. Please be as

generous as possible.

St. Joseph on the Brandywine Book Club: June 13

When Elizabeth I ruled England, the Catholic Church was

outlawed, Catholic priests were considered traitors, and

every person had to choose between loyalty to country and

fidelity to faith. Treason by Dena Hunt chronicles seven

days in the lives of a young priest who continues to minister

to hidden Catholic communities and a young woman who

must hide her faith from her Protestant husband. We invite

you to join us in the parish Family Center on Monday, June

13, from 12:45 to 2 p.m. The meeting immediately follows

the 12:05 Mass, and you are welcome to bring a brown bag

lunch. To register, contact Michelle Hogan at 302.622.8878

or [email protected]. For more information and direc-

tions to St. Joseph on the Brandywine parish in Greenville,

go to our website: stjosephonthebrandywine.org.

To honor Mother’s Day, Catholic Charities is sponsor-

ing a diaper drive to support our Diaper Bank. As the

only affiliate of the National Diaper Bank Network in Dela-

ware, we provide diapers to families in need. Currently, our Dia-

per Bank serves over 100 families! To help support our Diaper

Bank, please make a donation of diapers, baby wipes, or other

baby hygiene items. Donations can be brought to any Catholic

Charities location throughout the month of May. You will re-

ceive a tax receipt for your donation. You can also donate gift

cards or cash. Visit our website at www.cdow.org/charities to

donate online using a credit card.

If you know someone in need, have them call Bayard House at
