Gigs are at the heart of success on Fiverr, and to get the most from the site, you need to build the perfect Gig.

As a seller, you need to create the right Gigs, price them accurately, deliver on time, and have a raft of rave reviews from satisfied buyers. You should market your Gigs to keep funneling income into your bank account.

"For beginners, you must be creative with your Gigs in any category. You probably won’t find something completely new to offer, but you can be different in how you offer your Gigs." “Aaliyaan” - Wordpress Specialist, Top Rated Seller

1. GIG TITLEThe perfect title describes a single service so buyers know exactly what they're getting. It should say what you will offer and for what purpose.

2. TAGSTags are like keywords, which help make your Gig more visible in relevant searches. Using the exact same terms as a category or sub-category, is not recommended. Make sure the tags you choose describe your Gig in more detail. You can use a maximum of 2-3 keywords for a single tag.

3. PACKAGES AND PRICING Gigs may include three packages. Buyers should be able to identify the right package from the title. When pricing, use good, better, best approach, also known as Goldilocks pricing.

"The aim, of course, is for you to be properly compensated for your time, and as long as the quality of the product is there, then the pricing should scale accordingly.”Tom M Smork - Graphic Designer, Top Rated Seller

4. GIG EXTRASOutline the additional services that buyers may need. This will allow you to increase your revenue. For example, with logo design, your Gig extras could be business cards and stationery designs.

5. GIG DESCRIPTIONThis is the overall service - you should elaborate on what your Gig title promises. Use a proven copywriting strategy, which will help engage, convince, and turn readers into customers. We are speaking about the AIDA model. You start by capturing your reader's attention and interests, which relate to what their problems are and then convince them that you have a solution for their issues.

"In my Gig description, I urge people to contact me before ordering so we can discuss their needs, and I can provide them with a custom quote”Lauren Meikle "laurenmeikle" - Writer & Proofreader, Top Rated Seller

6. FAQSUse the FAQs section to answer the common questions buyers may have. These will appear on your Gig page, and will help answer common issues that may help a buyer gain the trust to purchase your service.

7. GIG IMAGEThe Gig image should be a great example of your work. Don’t upload images that you are not authorized to use. Build trust by including a picture of yourself, and using an explainer video. Keep a consistent brand identity for the images for different gigs.

7

8. GIG PORTFOLIOThis is mostly relevant to sellers in the Graphics & Design category. This feature will display images from your own work. It is the best way to showcase your skills and what you offer, which is key in building trust with potential buyers.

When it comes to building your Gig, you should focus on doing ONE thing well. This helps eliminate the discovery phase on the buyer's side.

THE SLOW BUILDOne strategy new sellers use is to start with a low price (and deliver above expectations), so that you can quickly build up a reputation and get some 5-star reviews. Once you do, you can slowly increase prices to a level you're more comfortable with and that more accurately reflects your skills.

"If you’re only starting out on Fiverr, I recommend setting low prices in order to give yourself the opportunity to demonstrate your skills to buyers. After you manage to build a reputation, then you can slowly and progressively increase your prices”Helena Say "belleplume" - Translator, Level Two Seller

THE VOLUME DISCOUNTAnother option is to use volume as a Gig package differentiator. If buyers receive a discount, it will encourage them to place the order. This will reduce your admin time, while increasing your revenue.

When you create packages, think about what differentiates you from the competition - some of these will be your Gig extras. Research pricing by looking at what top-rated sellers offer, and use their values as a starting point when creating your Gig.

THE EXCLUSIVE EXPERTFinally, if you're an expert, don't be afraid to price your services higher than others. Just make sure your profile and packages justify a higher rate. Some buyers love to work with experts.

As a seller, you want to make money on Fiverr. To do that, you'll have to get your pricing strategy right. Despite its origins, you don't have to charge $5 on Fiverr. However, you do have to be realistic about what buyers will pay, especially when you're just starting out. Here are a few strategies to try:

LEARN SELF-DISCIPLINESelf-discipline is the secret key to block out distractions and keep focused on your assignments. Schedule your day ahead of time and prioritize customer satisfaction and projects deadlines. Block out specific times throughout the day to accomplish specific tasks, so when you’re in work mode, you are fully focused on completing your project and tackling your to-do list.

MANAGE YOUR TIMEGood time management is a must. We suggest:

ג Limiting your orders in queue to not be overwhelmed with work.

ג Planning for the times when things go wrong.

ג Not setting your deadlines too tight.

ג Leaving time to do revisions if that's included in your Gig.

"I Purposefully block out specific times in the morning, afternoon, and evening to respond to customers. This way, when I’m in work mode, I only worry about completing projects and tackling my to-do list”

Joel Young – Video and Animation, Top Rated Seller

You can help yourself by taking the time to create quick responses. This will cut down on communication time, while allowing you to interact with your customers.

Finally, if there there is a way to speed time up in your own work take it. For example, you can:

ג Keep certain base design elements ready

ג Prepare content templates

ג Maintain a list of research resources for your core topics
