Issues and SolutionsOur actions can lead to

positive change.Issues, problems, issues! There are big and little issues and problems that concern a lot of people. Some problems and issues have obvious solutions while some issues and problems seem to have no solution.

In your Exhibition process you will get a chance to apply your skills as an action taker to some of these issues and problems. You will be choosing a real problem(either local or global) and carefully working through to a solution and take some action to help this issue or problem.

Working through this Exhibition journal will help you organize your time and resources to discover the best solution to your chosen issue or problem.

Good luck!

Why is this a problem/issue?

Why do you feel a responsibility for this problem/issue?

Inner Journey

Our actions can lead to positive change.

Human rightsSlavery

This brings the racist and make the world separate and it destroys people’s choice and freedom.

I thought this child have to learn and play but they are working and taking their beautiful smiles. I found it’s so cruel and I felt sad. It is important because all people is equal and they are not allow to have servants, so we have to stop them.

Our Process – Searching and Collecting

People to whom we spoke:

Name: Ms Bently

From Ms Bently we learned websites that are useful and got advice about making a bookmark. We thought together how we make bookmark better.

Surveys we created and distributed

The group surveyed: Grade 5Number of people surveyed: 80

We asked if the Grade 5’s think child labour is good and we asked what products the students use.

We wanted to find out if students use products from companies that use child labour so that we can stop them from supporting these companies.

Page 9: Hyunho's Exhibition Journal

Process Reflection

These are things I thought about our topic before BUT now I think differently:

I though slavery was bigger than child labor but I found slavery was part of child labor.

The are ideas I had about our problem/issue before AND I still have now

I still think that child labor is bad we should stop them.

These are things about our problem/issue that still challenge us and we still wonder about how many

companies use child labor in all?

We would like our audience to leave our presentation with these “BIG UNDERSTANDINGS” that they think one

more time about child labor and try to help them

Synthesizing and Connecting

Our actions can lead to positive change.

REFLECTIONActing and SharingWe can make a difference

Our group made many bookmarks and put it to the staff room.

I think my action worked pretty well.Because I predict that people in staff room have read those details and facts about child labor.

The interesting part was that only a 6 weeks of sacrifice and taught the future column ( young children).

Exhibition -Night Reflection

Our actions can lead to positive change.

I was a little bit embarrassed about making mistakes but when I presented I was less embarrassed , when it finished I felt I put all heavy things away. And I feel good that I taught them about my topic.
