JESUS’ WAY Today’s readings present a contrast between “Jesus’ way” and the “old way.” An example of the old way is the law given to Moses and Aaron about leprosy: the leper was unclean and cast out of the community. Jesus’ way is the opposite: the leper is reached out to, touched, and finally cured. Nor ought we think of the “old way” as restricted to the days of Moses and Aaron, or even to the “old” testament. The difference between the old way and Jesus’ way arises in own lives. We still choose, every day, to live in our old way or in Jesus’ way. Jesus dared to touch a leper, disregarding the old way. The leper then was changed for-ever. He felt a calling. He could-n’t keep himself from proclaim-ing that he had been touched by Jesus (even though Jesus told him not to!). Once Jesus touches us, we are called to proclaim his way. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Did you realize marriage is also a vocation? Thank God for your vocation to married life, as we celebrate Valentine's Day this week. God blessed us with many older married couples who continue to show us with their great example of a Holy Marriage -- how to love each other as husband and wife. Ask yourself these questions from Chapter 5 of Ephesians: Wives, do you respect your husband? Husbands, do you love your wife? FOCUS 11 - Day of Prayer and Vocation Fair February 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (6th Graders from Hillsborough and Northern Counties) St. Lawrence Church, 5223 N. Himes Ave., Tampa Focus 11 is a vocation oriented program that offers 6th graders the opportunity to reflect on God’s unique call in their lives as well as to actively consider the possibility of priesthood and religious life for themselves. The 6th grade day include: role call of schools, music, prayer, panel discussions, skits, key-note speakers, presentation by Bishop Lynch, a scavenger hunt and prizes from the Serra poster contest. Please pray for our Incarnation School students, and the other Catholic School 6th graders, as they experience this special day.

©Nuestra Parroquia
