On the first Sunday of Advent, some of the words of the Mass will be changing. In order to better understand these changes, please consider attending one of the following seminars:

IN CHURCH

Monday, Sept. 19 from 7pm - 8:30pm

Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9am - 10:30am

Also, please visit our website: www.icctampa.org to see our informative page dedicated to the new English translation of the Roman Missal.

FORGIVENESS Nearly ten years before, a son and father had parted ways when the business they shared went bankrupt. The son blamed the father. They did not speak to each other again. Then the father became seriously ill. The mother called the son and told him he had better come soon. The son walked sheepishly into the hospital room. The father motioned his son to him and whispered: “Did you ever think you could do anything that would keep me from lov-ing you?” Resentment and anger are foul things, the first reading from Sirach tells us. Remember the last things. Stop hating. Live by the commandments. As St. Paul writes to the Romans, we are to live for the Lord and die for the Lord. For us Americans on the tenth anniversary of Sep-tember 11, 2001, forgiveness still does not come easily. Yet Jesus’ parable in today’s Gospel reminds us of God’s com-passion. The immense sin of humanity has been forgiven and stricken from the record. We are to forgive others in the same way. © Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

Need Adult Sponsors for RCIA-

Do you want to increase your faith? Become a sponsor and share your faith with someone who is seeking to become bap-tized into the Catholic faith. You don’t need to be a teacher, just a friend and a guide. Requirements are that you are a fully initi-ated Catholic man or woman who attends Mass regularly. Our church is blessed with unbaptized adults who are seeking to enter the Catholic Church this year. Please call/email Carmen Cayon if you feel God calling you to become active in RCIA as a sponsor this year.

Lifting Up Your Hearts Small Faith Community-

The new translation to the Roman Missal is an opportunity to reflect on the beauty and mystery of the Catholic Mass. This is a six week session; groups are forming now and will begin in October. Call/email Carmen Cayon for more information or if you would like to participate.

Adult Confirmation-

Please call Carmen Cayon if you are a Catholic, attending Mass regularly and receiving Eucharist and would like to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Classes will be starting in the fall.

Adult Bible Study Groups-

New English and Spanish study groups are beginning now. Our facilitators use the Great Adventures Series or the Little Rock series. If you are interested in learning more about the books in the New Testament, please call Carmen Cayon for more information about times and dates

—© Copyright, Nuestra Parroquia
