    SENSEX& THE NIFTY

    The Sensex is an "index". An index is

    basically an indicator. It gives you a

    general idea about whether most of the

    stocks have gone up or most of the stocks

    have gone down.

    The Sensex is an indicator of all the major

    companies of the BSE.

    On the other hand where as nifty is an

    indicator of all the major companies of the

    NSE.

    SCOPE OF THE STUDY:

    This survey is mainly concerned with the

    investments in the nifty stock market. And to know

    how on-line trading takes place This survey mainlyrevolves around the people living in Pathankot

    .One part of the study is concerned with the

    procedure to know how online trading takes place

    and the second of the study is concerned with the

    consumer perception regarding investment in nifty

    stocks.

    RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

    The study is concerned with the consumer perception

    regarding investment in nifty stock market.The study of

    exploratory in nature and hence descriptive.

    The universe of the study consists of customers living

    in Pathankot. The sample consists of 300 customers

    ,which have been taken by judge mental non-random

    sampling technique. The sample being a non randomsample every care has been taken to select the

    respondents covering different background ,so as to

    make the study fairly representative .

    LIMITATIONS

    1. Customers found it inconvenient to spare time for

    interview.

    2. Higher level of investors were very uncooperativeand did not become part of the interview.

    3. Investors were not sure about the questions which I

    asked them.

    4. Due to the nature of the business ,they were not

    available at the house.

    5. While every effort was made to get the

    questionnaire filled personally, even then elements

    of bais might crept in.

    6.Due to loss form the investment ,some customers

    felt upset and did not attend the interview.

    CONCLUSION-

    This study is concerned with customer

    perception related with investment in nifty

    stock market. Acc to the data most of the

    respondents are aware of both types ofmarket (NSE and BSE) because they

    usually invest in both the phases of the

    market. Acc. to the data most of the people

    say that investment in nifty stock gives

    high return or maximum return. Acc to thedata two facilities i.e online facility and

    amc reduction are forcing them to remain

    with the brokers.

    ACC to the data most of the respondents say thatdue to lack of the stability , they feel some typeof instability while investing in the nifty stockmarket.50% people are concerned with the

    insecurity problems.Acc to the data almost 55% people say that theybelieve in short term investment .The reason isthat with the help of short term buying selling,they can earn more profit than investment

    through other modes .Acc to the data , almost54% people say that they are satisfied with thereturn they are getting from the multinationalcompanies because of their high return in themarket.

    RECOMMENDATIONS & SUGESTIONS :-

    Most of the clients are much aware about of theshare market . so companies should do the work ofpublicity ,so that most of the people can remain intouch with fluctuations of the market.

    # Companies should provide extra knowledge aboutthe share market to the employees ,so that therelationship managers can provide good andeffective knowledge to the clients.

    # Share market companies can gain an edge overcompetitors by providing better service after

    opening up of the demat accounts in the concernedcompany.

    # companies should hold an exercise to educatepublic about their strengths and how they aredifferent from the competitiors.
