Innovative teaching practices• Lots of variation in teachers’

innovative practices

• Student-centeredness and teacher ICT use are the most common features of innovative teaching practices

• Student technology use and extending learning beyond classroom are the biggest challenges

• There are individual innovative teachers in all elements of innovative teaching practices

ICT use at Finnish ITL-schools

• Technology is a tool to other innovative practices

• Technology well available at schools, but not that much in

classrooms

• Technology unequally divided between schools

• Mostly teachers use technology at schools

• Mostly technical aspects of teacher ICT use are supported

Attibutes that contribute innovation at school

level

•In innovative schools, innovative teaching and learning are integrated

into professional culture

•Innovation requires strong leadership, supporting innovation, having

internal value discussion within school, and teacher collaboration

•External technology training doesn’t support pedagogy, teachers have

an intense need for tailored pedagogical support
