VTMS Overview

A Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) is a marine traffic monitoring system who’s primary function is to track vessel traffic, reduce the potential of collisions between vessels, and collisions of vessels with offshore structures, along with other benefits such as Search and Rescue, Oil Spill Detection and Maritime Domain Awareness

A VTMS framework is typically comprised of the following components:

THE IPCIS BENEFIT

“The problem with long-term sustainment is nobody wants to think about it until they are

in trouble – which is too late. Then the response is reactive, introducing disparate

solutions and financial burden. That is why planning is critical at the earliest stage.”
