IoT, Big Data & Smart Cities – The Untold Story

Christos Voudouris is the Head of Digital Business Systems at Network Rail. He leads on all aspects of IS/IT, Data, Cybersecurity and Telecoms for the Digital Railway. Digital Railway is one of the largest digital transformation programmes of its kind aiming to upgrade UK’s rail network into a digitally connected & 'data-driven' railway. Christos has over 20 years of experience in IT and Telecoms. He started his carrier at British Telecom where we held R&D roles at BT Labs and later BT’s Group CTO office. Christos was a Global IT Director at Logica (later CGI) driving global transformation programmes on Collaboration, ERP and CRM.

Steve trained as an architect, but has spent the last thirty years designing technology solutions for corporate clients as diverse as as Apple, Best Buy, Ford, Grosvenor, HP, Orange, Qatari Diar and Virgin Atlantic as well as private clients such as David Attenborough, Ron Dennis, Jeremy Irons and Mick Jagger. Steve is Director of Connected Home at Dixons Carphone, and his current focus is the launch of their Home Services Platform, which supports homeowners with connectivity, installation, service and support. He lives with his family in Sussex. Steve loves cooking and hates flying.

Catherine is Head of Digital Strategy and Economics at Future Cities Catapult. She has 15 years international experience in technology development and strategy in a broad range of technical areas. She leads the IoT work within the FCC. Catherine has published several books and her latest one is “From M2M to IoT: An Introduction to a New Age of Intelligence”, published by Elsevier in 2014. She is also a Research Fellow at Imperial College, where she holds several EPSRC grants.
