Introduction to
Industrial flooring & pavements– no other part of a building is so exposed
No other aspect of an industrial building is as exposedas the flooring, and in outdoor industries there is noarea as exposed as the pavement. Whether it is anairport apron, a container terminal in a port, aproduction area in light or heavy industry, an abattoiror freezer room, or a warehouse or multi-storey carpark, the floor or pavement is the common denominatorthat is regularly subjected to a combination of stresses.
Whatever the situation – wear, abrasion, impact, pointloads, cyclic freezing and thawing, chemical attack,high-pressure steam cleaning or aggressive chemicalcleaning processes – the art lies in producing thecorrect flooring or pavement for each situation. Densit a/s is a master of this art.
Within the framework of Densit®
technology, we fulfil the needs ofspecific market segments for materialsand systems to reinforce areas that areboth exposed to severe demands andcritical to the user’s activities.

Advantages of Densit®
materials
FAST CONSTRUCTION ANDEARLY TRAFFICKINGDepending upon the system, Densit®
industrial flooring and pavements aretypically installed on a water-satura-ted concrete subbase, sealed asphaltor lean-mix concrete. Minimalpreparation is required and installa-tion is rapid, speeding up new-buildconstruction schedules and reducingdowntime during repairs.
After installation, Densit® industrialflooring systems will usually beready for trafficking after 24 hours at20°C, again minimising downtime.
BASE COURSEDensit® industrial flooring systemscan be laid not just on new concretebut also on a variety of materialssuch as old, polluted or weak, disintegrating concrete, lean-mixconcrete, asphalt and steel. In everycase, Densit a/s offers a durablesolution.

Densit® solutions are based on three fundamental systems: Properties
of Densit®
materialsThe various Densit®
industrial flooring systemsprovide each their specialcombination from therange of properties:
• High wear resistance.
• High bearing capacity –resistant to point loads.
• High impact resistance.
• Freedom from joints.
• Impermeability.
• Resistance to freeze-thaw cycles.
• Protection of baseconcrete against salt.
• Ease of cleaning.
• Dust-free surface.
• Ability to withstandsteam cleaning.
DENSIPHALT® Thickness 30-100 mmSemi-flexible industrial flooring and pavement systems Densiphalt® consists of an open-graded asphalt, with thevoids filled by a high-strength cement-based mortar.Densiphalt® is especially well suited to heavily traffickedareas that require a rut-resistant, wear-resistant and joint-free surface.
DENSITOP® Thickness 5-25 mmIndustrial flooring systemsDensitop® consists of a high-strength cement-basedmortar combined with hardwearing aggregates. It isespecially suitable for areas exposed to extremely highloadings, and where hygiene requirements are strict.
FERROTOPTM Thickness 23-35 mmAnchored flooring systemsFerrotop™ is a high-strength cement-based mortarcombined with hardwearing aggregates, mechanicallybonded to the subbase by one or two layers ofreinforcement mesh. The system is designed especiallyfor repairing flooring on weak or contaminated baseconcrete.
