ISDEF is proud to announce the appointment of its Board of Advisors. The board comprises of four highly experienced

individuals, who have played important roles in the defense and security arena. Today, these individuals have

active roles in the private sector and continue to contribute to the Israeli defence market. Recognized leaders

in their respective �elds, the knowledge and experience of these members will be a highly valued contribution,

ensuring that ISDEF 2013 will be a highly successful and prominent event.

Major General Katabi (Ret.): Major General Katabi (ret.) achieved the rank of Major in the paratrooper division. In 1980, he started his service at the Israeli Police where he served in a variety of command positions such as, security

and counterterrorism, tactics and training. Some of his notable positions as a member the Israel Police negotiating are; SWAT team commander, commander of College Senior o�cers and the commander of the Judea and Samaria district until 2009. Major Katabi’s command skill, the di�erent projects that he initiated in the �eld of counter-terrorism and the operations he conducted, made the Israeli police a world leader in Counter Terrorism, and to this day he has had a signi�cant positive in�uence on the continued security of the State of Israel.

Col. (Res.) Arik Davidi): CEO and chairman of “E.G.G “. Arik Davidi served in the IDF for 25 years. During his service, Colonel Davidi held various in�uential and challenging positions such as Deputy Commander of a Tank division,

Tank Brigade Commander, and an Instructor in the Battalion Commanders Course. Mr Davidi was Tank Battalion Co. for the Golan Heights and Lebanon border. He has also held positions as the IDF representative in Hamburg (Germany). General inspector of the IDF, IDF internal Comptroller, Head of the Inspection and Comptrollement Department, and is an active Judge in the IDF Court of Appeals. Mr Davidi is CEO and Chairman in E.G.G. and Chairman of A-Sec Company, the Security division of E.G.G. Holding Company.

Vice Admiral (Res.) Eliezer Marum: Vice Admiral. Marum spent the majority of his service in the Navy. He was commander of a missile boat, then commander of The First Missile Boat Squadron, commander of the advanced o�cers’ school

for navy commanders, head of the operational intelligence department and commander of the First Missile Boat Flotilla. In 1999, he was promoted to Rear Admiral and nominated commander of Haifa base and of the northern arena. In 2002 he was nominated to be the head of operations of the Navy, in 2003 he was nominated as Chief of Sta� of the Navy. In 2004, he served as the IDF representative to the U.S. Joint Forces Command headquarters and in 2005 he was appointed military attaché at the Israeli embassy in Singapore. In 2007 Admiral Marum was appointed Commander in Chief of the Israeli Navy and was involved in numerous decisive operations. He played a signi�cant role in improving the capabilities of the Navy, and ensuring the security of the State of Israel

Brigadier General (Res.) Amnon Sofrin: enlisted in 1973 and served as a �ghter and o�cer in the Golani division. In 1976 he entered the intelligence unit, and served as an intelligence o�cer in the Golani division. From 1990 to 1992

he commanded the combat training school at the Tzelim base, and in 1993, he was appointed intelligence o�cer of the IDF’s central command. Between 1996 and 1999 he was head of the collection division in the intelligence department. From 2000 he was appointed commander of the �eld intelligence unit until July 2003. After he left the military he was appointed in August 2003 to a senior position in the Israeli defense establishment until January 2008. Brigadier General Sofrin is the coordinator of the HLS activities at “Elta” of IAI.
