Objectives

1. Addressing the scientific needs related to the implementation of the EUSDR

• JRC, as the EC's in-house science service, has strong expertise on the Danube Region (EFAS, Danube Soil Information System, water quality monitoring, etc.)

• Promoting a cross-cutting approach

• Addressing the interdependencies between different EUSDR Priority Areas and helping to avoid duplication of efforts

2. Strengthening scientific cooperation in the Danube Region

• Implementation in close cooperation which key scientific actors of the Danube Region

• Facilitating exchange of knowledge between countries with different performance level in R&D

• Stimulating scientific excellence to improve scientific performance and thereby innovation capacity and competitiveness
