JT Communication solutions is a dynamic, 100% black owned media agency established in 2004, that is rooted in Africa, with global reach.Vanessa Perumal founder and Managing Director of JT Comms is a well known, journalist, publicist

and media strategist with a 15 year track record.Our core business offering includes media relations, publicity, communications, events and marketing solutions our client base includes the public, private, NGO, education, creative and business sectors.

JT Comms was established as a publicity, media and communications agency but through innovation has evolved to a through-the-line dynamic media agency. JT Comms is an organic and constantly evolving agency and has successfully scaled

its operations to a 360 digital agency. In addition the agency has strategically entered the dynamic marketing space of retail marketing on invitation. The company has also launched new innovations such as hosting “Business master classes” and launching an online TV station, the idea is to signifi cantly differentiate JT Comms from its competitors

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

In 2011 the centre took on social responsibility projects that provided various media platforms and tools to Youth in Action South Africa.

The centre continues to ferociously lead the way, developing local media professionals and content that is groundbreaking and revealing of African cultural capacity. This includes a 2013 activation of awareness for the legendary peace driven project, Festival of the Desert (Festival au Désert), a long standing partner with the media centre. Bring back our girls, etc.

As a social entrepreneur and a human rights activist who owns both a company and a network in collectives both JT Comms and Vanessa Perumal respond to numerous social responsibility needs in all sectors of business and on a community level.

Fest ival of the Desert

The Festival au désert (“Festival in the Desert”) is in exile and under attack by religious

fundamentalists and no longer has a home in Timbuktu. Together with a global alliance of human rights activists JT Comms partners the Festival au Desert and continues to offer fi nancial and other support. In 2013 JT Comms hosted the Festival in South Africa and funded the caravan for Peace.

Central to our communications platforms JT Comms is in a position to support the

students needs on the ground and have set up a network with other role players using social media to respond. To date we have collected over R100k and resourced students with airtime, food supplies, medical support, housing needs etc

#BringBackOurGir ls

Vanessa Perumal joined forces with a host of activists such as Metro FM’s Criselda

Kananda, actress Rosie Motene, singer Ntsiki Mazwai, Mapaseka, Steve Letsiki, Lerato Nkosi joined resources to support #BringBackOurGirls. As a result of our efforts we were able to organise marches, petitions, dialogues etc around the campaign. We work in a collective and continue to offer assistance through this network to other human rights needs. Social Media is the main aggregator of how we organise mass support.

#ECafr ica - Entrepreneur Connect

Entrepreneur Connect is online platform that aspires to give entrepreneurs the opportunity

to use social media as a conduit to engage with their markets, create new revenue streams and introduce their product offering to global markets in collectives, using the technology to infl uence shifts in procurement patterns. The key driver of the platform is to position leading African Entrepreneurs, infl uencers, thought leaders and practitioners into strategic thinking collectives, and using technology as an enabler to introduce the #EntrepreurConnect collective and take products to markets. JT Comms sponsors the entire network.

Afr icans for Afr ica

The Africans for Africa Network is the brainchild of Vanessa Perumal and is making

bold, creative moves to ensure that there is a change African narrative. The Africans for Africa Network aims to change the prevailing narrative of Africa, from one driven by Western media to one that refl ects the inherent strengths and empowerment of the continent, across a variety of different, African-centred platforms.

#NotoXenophobia

This campaign started as a response to the Xenophobia violence that broke out in SA.

Through our networks and partnerships with the African Diaspora Forum (ADF) JT Comms supports this campaign by resourcing the communication and human rights needs as the need arises.

BunniesInTheBurbs

Bunnies in the ‘Burbs is disrupting the African narrative and also advances how social

media can offer a platform where leaders in diverse sectors can take the opportunity to engage and positively mentor and inspire a new generation of thought leaders who can infl uence how African stories are shared, through culture, cuisine and conversation.
