Stewards Equipped “As the Lord spoke to me, the spirit entered me and set me on my

feet, and I heard the one who was speaking say to me, ‘Son of man, I am sending you…’” (EZEKIEL 2:2-3)

God asks each of us to do some special work for Him. As His Stewards he gives us the resources we need to do His work. However, do we listen to God when He calls? Do we get up on our feet and use our talent to do the work He asks of us? Remember, God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW IS THIS CAMPAIGN DIFFERENT FROM THE HOUSE OF CHARITY? This campaign is a response to extraordinary needs, while the House of Charity helps to fund the ongoing operating expenses of the Diocese. HOW WILL THE CAMPAIGN AFFECT PARISH OFFERTORY COLLECTION? Parishes rely on their offertories. Throughout the campaign, pastors will ask parishioners to make commitments above and beyond regular giving. Parishioners are asked not to diminish giving to the offertory or the House of Charity collection, but rather to consider an increased commitment to the Church. Parishioners are encouraged to continue to embrace stewardship as a way of life. HOW WILL PARISH TARGETS BE SET? Each parish target will be set at 1.35 times the average ordinary income from the years 2014-2016. HOW WILL MY PARISH BENEFIT FROM THE CAMPAIGN? Each parish will receive 70% of the funds collected up to its goal from parishioners to be allocated to its own local case. Parishes that exceed their target will receive 80% of those funds collected above their target. Funds collected will be dispersed every six months to both a parish’s deposit and loan fund and diocesan case components. HOW MUCH SHOULD WE GIVE? Genuine stewardship encourages gifts of equal sacrifice, but not gifts of an equal dollar amount. Ultimately, your thoughtful and prayerful decision will be most appropriate and most appreciated. HOW LONG WILL THE PLEDGE REDEMPTION PERIOD LAST? Gifts are encouraged to be pledged over a three- to five-year.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Music Notes By Donna Marie Berchtold

On behalf of the NJ Music Educators’ Association (NJMEA), I would like to express my thankfulness to the members of our Parish who so gratefully assisted with and attended the 65th Annual Middle School – Jr High Choral Festival on Wed. June 6, 2018.

The original Concert Date was “snowed out”, and a new venue was difficult to find with dates that coordinated with 10 school districts. Fr. Tom offered the use of the Assumption Church as a Performance venue, and Joan Dollinger offered the use of the Assumption School for usage of facilities.

Six Schools participated and were adjudicated, receiving a Participation Plaque for their School: William Davies (Mays Landing), William Allen (Moorestown), Red Brook (2 hours North), Haddonfield, Buena Regional, and our own Assumption School Choir under the direction of Cheryl Breitzman.

Adjudicators were Dr. Chris Thomas (Rowan University Choral Director) and Mr. Charles Bass, Sr. (Ret. Choral Director – Oakcrest HS)
