01 Homegrown food concept store

DEC 2014

Homegrown Foods is an ethical company, it helps the local farm-ers by not plunder their benefits also provide a healthier lifestyle to customers throught making sure their agriculture is clean and reach the high standard through testing. The most important is Homegrown Foods has a passion on proclaiming local farms to Hong Konger. As a role of agency, Homegrown Foods delivers the crops from local farms to locals and this point is my concept. Also, as a role of delivery, transportation is one of the elements in

the concept store.

The ladders in the storage area

For the product display, every crops are put into baskets which the baskets and the boxes are fusing to-gether. I make this because I want to match the farm feelings. And the baskets positions are all following the big baskets positions on the wall.

Sketches

In the concept store of Homegrown Foods, there are divided into three parts. The top area is storage, big baskets hanging on the wall at the middle and also a structure of sitting, standing and crops dis-play system at the bottom. In the store, there are lots of crops, they are placed in the baskets hang-ing on the wall and also the structure of the sit-ting and standing area. I have done these display system because I want to let the customers to feel how fresh the crops are since you can’t reach to the baskets part. The baskets area is not simple, there are some railroads hanging on the wall (next to the basket) and on the ground. Once customer order the vegetables and fruits through little machines and then baskets moving on the wall following the rail to the baskets which place the crops that cus-

tomer order. After the basket collects all the food the customer orders, it comes down on the ground and reach to the cashier, I want to show people the basket and the railroad as Homegrown Foods is delivering fresh vegetable and fruits to their hands. About the area of another food dis-play, there are seats and standing area whose provides for people to watch how their baskets move, wait for their vegetable and chat.

02Hotel room

Oct 2014

In Hong Kong, people have lived under pressure the whole time, so vacation is the way that they can walk away from their stress. However, most of them are not in well-being. The concept of well-being comprises two main elements: feeling good and functioning well. Feelings of happiness, contentment, enjoyment, curiosity and engagement are characteristic of someone who has a positive experience of their life. And the hotel is very important to them since it is a place where they can relax and rest without any pressure, plus hotel is not only a place for them to relax also healing

themselves.

There are five ways to reach wellbeing. First, connect with the people around you. Second, be active, discover a physical activity you enjoy and that suit your level of mobility and fitness. Third, take notice, be curious, catch sight of the beautiful, remark on the the unusual. Notice the changing seasons. Besides, keep learning, learning new things will make you more confident as well as being fun. Finally, give, do something nice for a friend, or a stranger. Thank someone and smile. Therefore, my hotel is filled

with these five factors.

For helping people to reach wellbeing. I de-signed this hotel according to those fives way of being wellbeing. To being with, the environ-ment of the room is very close to nature, since there are many windows surround the room and even half of the room is outdoor area. Next, there are common area between room to room, the guest can swim to the pool of the next room, this can increase the interaction with people. Also for interacting with people, there are tables and seats surrounding the pool so that people can sit there watch and chat with people. Furthermore, there is a reading corner in the room; it placed around the bed area. The books are put under the bed since there is a bookshelf, it can make good use of the space of the room. Finally, the guests can swim since there is a pool; it is a place for you to become active with people and being healthy.

/ Bookshelf (under the bed)/ Since, the indoor area (bed) is not very big, so that I combine the shelves with the furniture or wall. Therefore the room can have more space. /Also, the water fall from the gap, it produces the water sound so that people can relax.

05 Peace

The Occupy Central had happened for more than two months, there were a short period that occupy central was peaceful but then the protestors were being impatient and they started to express them-selves by being violence since the government didn’t do anything the protests had wanted. Hundreds of protestors wearing hard hats and protective masks reached Admiralty and they besieged to Chief Executive Leung Chun Ying’s office. Police used pepper spray and batons to repel the protestors. What the protestors did is want to get the government’s attention and they want to have the second chance of meeting government officers. However, for those anti occupy protestors, they blamed the occupy protestors that they seriously affected their life so that they made a series of violent action which against the protestors. The reasons behind the Occupy central protestors’ action are positives but they chose the wrong decision to get the attentions, occupy the roads is wrong plus these actions are already existed for two months and it deeply affected the economic situation of Hong Kong. As there were so many damages on Hong Kong economic and the goal of the occupy central is fighting for democracy with peace and love, therefore the protestors should figure out another way to express their feelings to get the attentions without affecting other people. I do appreciate the artworks they had done on the street in Mongkok, Causeway Bay and Admiralty and those artworks were really repre-senting their feelings and their thoughts, also they showed how creative and compliant the protestors were. As showing people how creative and compliant Hong Kong protestors were, I decided to do a

public art to remind people to express their feelings and thoughts with peace.

/ A crane, it doesn’t only mean healing also happiness and peaceful. It is effectively telling students and staffs in Hong Kong Community Col-lege whose truly want to have democracy peacefully showing their feelings and thoughts./ Made by paper. / The crane is hanging at the outside of Hong Kong Community Col-lege (The democracy center) where is the best place about democ-racy. / Use pieces A1 yellow paper to make this big crane as yellow is the main colour of occupy central. / This big crane is not only a crane, it is also a big crane which full of people feelings of occupy central and Hong Kong’s future because I asked the students and staffs of Hong Kong Community College to write down their feelings on the crane. / The size of the crane is big because the meaning of the crane is collecting the feelings of Hong Konger so as to satisfy all the people with peace and merry.

10Living quarter

SEP2014

This house is for four people to live in temporary. People from Hong Kong are always stressed and they need a space to relax which should be free and open to nature. Also, the housing situation of Hong Kong is cramped so the area for each

person is wide so people can do whatever they want.
