La Quinta High School Blackhawk Brigade PARENT INFORMATION SHEET Homecoming Parade - November 2nd, 2016 PURPOSE The Blackhawk Brigade will be performing at the LQHS Homecoming Parade at Old Town La Quinta on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016. The following is for your information. ITINERARY 3:00pm Call Time - Load Truck @ New Gym (Low Brass/Reeds, Battery, Flags, Banner w/Blanket - STRAPS!!!) Hitch a ride with the School Bus shuttle to Old Town, or drive yourself 3:30pm Arrive/Unload @ Library Parking Lot (restrooms in library) 4:00pm Section Warm Up/Form up in Parade Block in order (per Ms. Smith) 4:45pm Final Staging, NO MORE RESTROOMS UNTIL THE END (plan accordingly) 5:00pm PARADE BEGINS! Fight Song (2nd ending) + Short Drum Cadence 5:15pm Move to “Coffee Shop Parking Lot” 5:45pm Move onto the “green area” - Stand Still: Fight Song, move off on Drum Cadence back to Truck 6:00pm Load up the truck (Don’t leave anything you need for class on Thursday!) Dismissal - Parent Pick up @ Library, or just leave on your own * Restrooms in the library THE TRUCK WILL BE DRIVEN BACK TO LQHS, WE WILL UNLOAD IT THURSDAY AFTER SCHOOL Meetup & Pickup @ La Quinta Library 78275 Calle Tampico, La Quinta, CA 92253 OTHER DETAILS • Mr Schneider will be providing supervision if you have questions, Ms. Smith is the coordinator of the parade - FOLLOW THEIR EVERY INSTRUCTION!!! • We will wear FULL UNIFORM (TBA - Show shirts and jeans depending on weather) • The truck must have: Large Brass/Woodwinds, Battery, Parade Banner (With Blankets), Flags (?), STRAPS! • There will be school bus shuttles to get you down to Old Town if you can’t get yourself there. (Pickup @ Front of school) • Take your case and personal items, you are NOT coming back to LQHS afterward • Parking may be difficult - do NOT waste time getting over there after school. Please go straight there • You will be dismissed after our standstill performance (no buses back to the school - arrange your own pickup) • We will perform the fight song (short) and short drum cadence (Horn to Attn. on the Taps, Horn up on 5 on count off) • SMALL STEPS!
