WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULE
Eucharistic Adoration: Please note that Adoration at all 3 parishes is on hold for the summer and will resume in the fall. Locations and times will be announced in future bulletins.
Blessings: Bishop Joseph Dabrowski was present at each of our churches for our first weekend as a Family of Parishes. At the 4:30pm mass, Bishop
Joe installed Fr. Dwayne as Pastor of the Family of Parishes. The celebrations were well attended and the participation was great. Heartfelt thanks to the Transition Team for organizing our celebrations and receptions, to the Pastoral Team for preparing the liturgical ministers and to the musicians and choirs for their involvement. As we continue to worship together focused on Christ, our love for Him will deepen and our Family will be strengthened.
Parish Pastoral Council (PPC): The Transition Team representatives from each parish, along with the Pastoral Team, now form the Parish Pastoral Council for the Family of Parishes.
Our regular gatherings continue throughout the month of July as we prepare a 6 month Pastoral Plan for our Family of Parishes. Using the 6 Pastoral Plan Goals set by the Diocese of London, we will select one action item to be completed for each goal. The PPC is also discerning a new “Mission Statement” for our Family. The Pastoral Plan will be published sometime in August.
Elevators galore: Each church building has an elevator for those who can no longer take the stairs. Sacred Heart elevator is accessed off the parish hall entrance and there is handicapped parking available. St. Joseph elevator is off the east entrance of the parking lot adjacent to the school. (The door is directly behind where the construction of the front porch is taking place. There is a buzzer on the wall in the entryway of the elevator. An usher will assist you if you do not have a key.) St. Paul has an elevator. It is easier to pull into the priests parking in front of the garage for drop-off only. Please do not remain parked in the driveway.
Where are the priests? Some parishioners have been concerned about “where is Father going to be this weekend?” The answer is “SURPRISE”. The schedule
of who celebrates what mass at what church will consistently change so as to give everyone an opportunity to get to know both priests!
Family of Parishes News Update
Ministry Changes: A few changes in the introduction to the mass have been made so as to help the priests familiarize themselves with the people who minister in the parish. Announcing the names of the participants in the mass gives everyone the opportunity to get to know each other.
Parish restroom facilities: Please see the information below for restroom locations at each parishes.
Sacred Heart: The lift, handicapped washrooms as well as regular restrooms are all located on the main floor of the north side entrance of the church. The washrooms can be accessed from the sanctuary by exiting out of the side doors near the altar, going down the stairs and turning right.
St. Joseph’s: Along with an elevator, St. Joseph parish also has an handicapped restroom on the main floor inside of the church near the main entrance. The regular restrooms are located downstairs in the parish hall which is accessible by any of the stairwells. Please see one of the Ushers if you require assistance.
St. Paul’s: Washrooms are located in the basement. The handicap-accessible washroom is at the bottom of the new stairwell. The other washrooms are located in the parish hall. When you walk in the hall, they are to the right. You can use either the stairs at the back of the church, the new stairs or the lift to access any of the washrooms.
Marriage Annulment: Are you hoping to get married in the Catholic Church or to have a new union blessed? Or are you simply looking for some closure after a painful divorce? If so, consider applying for a Declaration of Nullity (“annulment”) from the Marriage Tribunal of the Diocese of London. The process is free of charge. We are here to help. If you want to start the process, or if you just have some questions about obtaining a Declaration of Nullity, feel free to call us at 519-439-1553 or Toll Free at 1-866-603-4317, or e-mail [email protected]
Hospital Visits: Please contact the office should you desire a visit while in the hospital. Emergencies should be directed to the chaplain assigned at the hospital. Of course, the anointing of the sick can be administered upon request.
Funeral Prayer Team: A number of individuals have been trained to lead prayers at the funeral home. They will gather to review the ritual and ensure that they are following diocesan
policy regarding wake services.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): A very important process of educating adults who are seeking to join the Catholic Church or who desire to complete the Sacraments of Initiation will be offered in our family this fall. A team of parishioners from different walks of life share the truths of our faith and their insights into various topics that are presented. The RCIA gatherings will be offered on Tuesday evenings (usually every second Tuesday, except before Easter when the gatherings are weekly). We will share this journey of faith at St. Joseph Church in the parish hall (basement) from 7 – 9 pm. Registration forms are available on line or can be requested from the parish office.
Sunday Offertory: A reminder that all offertory envelopes and pre-authorized debit donations will remain with your home parish. Loose donations stay in the church where they were given.
Parish Offices: The current office locations remain open, with the staff continuing to serve the communities on the same days and with the same hours of work as established at present.
Child-friendly Community: The presence of babies, toddlers and children is an essential sign of life in our parish. Please offer words of welcome and encouragement to young families attending Sunday Mass. Parents, if you feel the need to step out during Mass, feel free to do so, but please come back when the time is right.
Priest Pension Fund: Thank you for your generosity. Last month, our parish took up a collection in support of our retired priests. We have received many gifts in the collection basket and online. Your charity and kindness are a sign of the care and affection we feel for our faithful priests, who have ministered to our spiritual needs for generations. If you would still like to give to the Priest Pension Fund, there is still time. Please continue to keep our priests, both retired and active, in your prayers.
Unplanned Pro-Life Movie is currently in theatres and will be playing until July 18th at Silver City and Imagine Cinema. For show times and tickets, visit https://www.unplannedfilm.com/canada or call the theater for updated times. Please consider going to see this inspiring and life changing movie, as it brings to light the devastating realities of abortion. Please pray for the conversion of both minds and hearts through the witness of this true story!
Pre-Authorized Donations: Please consider signing up for Pre-Authorized Debit to ensure that your weekly donation
still goes to support your home parish, even if you occasionally attend Mass at another church. Tax receipts are still automatically given at the end of the year. Please call the parish office for more information.
New Church Signs: New exterior signs have been installed at all 3 parishes with the new Mass times for our Family of Parishes. Be sure to take notice next time you drive by!
