WARNINGS!INSTALLATION
• Read the instructions closely before installing and/or using thehood.

• We recommend that all installation and adjustment procedures arecarriedoutbytrainedpersonnel.
• Whenthehoodistakenoutofitspackaginginspectittoensurethatitisintact.Iftheproductisdamaged,donotuseitandcontacttheSmegassistanceservice.
• Before making any connections, make sure that the mains voltagecorresponds to the voltage shown on the label located inside theappliance.
• ForClassIappliances,checkthatthedomesticpowersupplyguaranteesadequateearthing.
• Theminimumdistancebetweenthehobandthelowerpartofthehoodmustbeatleast750mmforgashobsand650mmforelectrichobs.

MAINTENANCE• Beforecarryingoutanymaintenanceprocedureorcleaning,disconnecttheappliancefromtheelectricitysupply.
• Carryoutthoroughandtimelymaintenanceofthefiltersinaccordancewiththeintervalsrecommendedbythemanufacturer.
• Tocleanthehoodsurfaces,useadampclothandamildliquiddetergent.
• Cleaningandmaintenancecarriedoutbytheusermustnotbeperformedbychildrenwithoutsupervision;

USE:• ThisappliancewasdesignedtobeusedasanEXTRACTION(extractionofairtotheoutside)orFILTERhood(recirculationofairindoors).
• EXTRACTIONVERSION:Toturnthehoodintotheextractionversionconnectthemotorinlet,bymeansofarigidorflexiblepipewithasuitableinternaldiameterandnolessthan120mm,directlytotheexternalvapourandodourextractionduct.
NB.Removeanyactivecarbonodour-controlfilters.
• FILTERVERSION: If it is not possible to direct the air outdoors, thehoodcanbetransformedintothefilterversion. Inthisversion, theairandvapoursarepurifiedbyactivecarbonfiltersandrecirculatedintotheroomthroughthelateralventilationgrillesoftheflue.Note: using the hood in filter mode can increase the level of noiseperceived.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:Thehood issuppliedwithall theaccessoriesnecessaryforits installation.Theminimumdistancebetweenthelowersurfaceofthehoodandthehobmustbeatleast750mmfor gas hobs and 650mm for electric hobs (Fig. 1 ). Ifthemotor inlet isequippedwitha non-returnvalveforfumes,makesureitcanopenandclosefreely.Foreasyinstallationitisrecommendedtofollowtheproceduresdescribedbelow:1)Thehoodmustbecentredwithrespecttothehobsurface.2)Therearedifferent installationproceduresdependingon
thehoodmodel.Chooseoneofthefollowingfixingsystems(Fig.2):a) 2 levelling hooks that fasten on with the supplied
expansionplugsb) Rearlevellingbracketthatfastensonwiththesupplied
expansionplugsc) Levellinganchorsonmotorboxthatfastenonwiththe
suppliedexpansionplugsd) For island models refer to the special installation
attachment.N.B.:Fixingsystemsa)andb)fitontothebackofthehood
intheholesL1(Fig.4).3)Removethegreasefiltersandpositionthehoodonthewall
andmarkthereferencepositionfortheholestoanchortherelativefixingsystem.
4)Drillthe2holespreviouslymarkedafterremovingthehoodfromthewall
5)Anchor the fixing system to the wall by tightening theexpansionplug
6)MarkholesL2onthewalltosecuretheplugssafelyintheholes.(plugssupplied)
7)Hang the hood on the fixing system (fig. 2) and level itusingtheadjustmentscrews(fig.2).
8)SecurelyfixthehoodbyfullytighteningthetwoexpansionscrewsoftheholesL2
AIRCONNECTIONSYSTEMS:EXTRACTION version: Connect the fume expulsion duct(insidediameter150mm.)totheexhaustofthemotorinlet.If theexpulsionduct isD.120mm,usethespecialreductionflange (F) supplied, where applicable. The expulsion ductmustnothaveadiameteroflessthan120mm.Note that if thehood issuppliedwithanactivecarbonfilter,thismustberemoved(seepage8)DeviationforGermany:WhenthehoodandotherappliancespoweredbyenergyotherthanelectricityaresimultaneouslyON,thenegativepressureintheroommustnotexceed4Pa(4x10-5bar).

FILTERversion:Leave themotor inlet free. Install theactive carbonfiltersasshownonpage8.IfthehoodisnotsuppliedwithanactivecarbonfilteryoumustbuyitseparatelyatyournearestauthorisedSmegdealer.For somemodels there is a standard set of fittings(fig.5) to be fixed to the wall by expansion plugs ata suitable height in order to channel the airflow incorrespondencewiththeflueslits. Insert laterally theextensionsR2onthefittingR1.ConnectthefittingR1attheoutletofthehoodbodybymeansofatubeofdiameterD.150mm.
• FLUEASSEMBLY(fig.6):Positionthefluebracket(K)totherequiredtoplimit.Markthetwoholesonthewalltofixthebracket.Drillandfixthebracketwiththesuppliedexpansionplugs.Carefully position the flueunit on thehood. Fix thelower flue to the hood by means of the screws Z.Carefullyextendthetopfluetotheupperlimit.Secure the top flue to the flue bracket K using thescrewsL.
• ELECTRICCONNECTION
Werecommendthatelectricconnectionsarecarriedoutbyaprofessionalinstaller.
Inthecaseofadirectelectricconnectiontothemains,betweentheapplianceandthemains,placeabipolarswitch with a minimum opening of 3mm betweencontacts, sized to the load and compliant with thecurrentregulations.

Timedintensivespeed:
Thetimedintensivefunctionisthatmodeofserviceforwhichthehood,foralimitedtime,worksatitsmaximumcapacity.Thetimedintensivespeedofthehoodisactivatedby turning theknob (B)clockwise fromposition3. Once the timed intensivespeedisactivated, theknobautomatically turnstoposition3. The intensivespeedcanbeswitchedoff by turning the control (B) counter-clockwise again.When the intensive

Key Function DisplayA Turns the suction motor on / off. Displays the set speedB Decreases the operation speed. Displays the set speedC Increases the operation speed. Displays the set speedD Activates the Intensive speed from any speed even with the
motor off, this speed is timed. At the end, the system returns to the speed previously set. Suitable for dealing with the maximum emissions of cooking fumes.

Hold the button down for about 5 seconds, when all loads are off (Motor + Light), to switch the keyboard lock On / Off.
"- -" Keyboard lock On.
E 24 H functionActivates the motor at the first speed and allows extraction for 10 minutes every hour.
It displays 24 and the point at the bottom right flashes once a second, while the motor is in operation. Press the key to disable it.
Holding the button down for about 5 seconds when all loads are off (Motor + Light), holding key "B" down during the animation, the Active Carbon Filters Alarm switches On / Off.
Displays a rotary animation for 5 seconds. "EF" flashes twice in activation. "EF" flashes once in deactivation.
F Delay functionEnables the automatic shutdown delay of 30'. Suitable for removing residual odours. Can be activated from any position. You disable it by pressing the key or turning the motor off.
Displays the operating speed and the point on the lower right flashes.
G With the filter alarm in progress, pressing the key for about 3 seconds resets the alarm.
After the procedure, the signal previously displayed turns off: FF signals the need to wash the metallic grease filters. The alarm comes on after 100 hours of actual operation of the Hood. EF signals the need to replace the active carbon filters and the metallic grease filters must also be washed. The alarm comes on after 200 hours of actual operation of the Hood.
H Decreases the light intensity at each press of the Key in a cyclic manner.

Beforeperforminganymaintenanceand/orcleaningalwaysdisconnectthehoodfromthepowersupplyRegularcleaningguaranteesgoodoperationanda longapplianceservice life.Thegreasefiltersandfilterhoodswithcarbonfiltersrequirespecialcare.N.B.Theaccumulationofgreaseinsidethefilterpanelsaswellasaffectingtheperformanceoftheextractor,canalsocreateafirehazard.
Theexternalandinternalcleaningofthehoodmustbecarriedoutusingadampclothandmild liquiddetergent.Completelyavoid theuseof solventsorabrasives. It isrecommendedtousespecificproducts,followingtheinstructionsontheproduct.Itisadvisabletocleanthehoodbyalwaysrubbingthesteelinthedirectionofthesurfacefinish.
- TIMEDAUTOPOWEROFF:Bypressingoneofthemotorspeedkeys(2-3),twice,youwillactivatethefunction"TimedAutoPowerOff"whichturnsoffbothlightsandhoodmotorafter10mins.ActivatingthisfunctionisdemonstratedbytheLEDimmediatelyabovethepressedbuttonflashing.- FILTERCLEANINGSIGNAL:thesimultaneousflashingofthe4LEDs,(programmedtorunevery200hofoperation),istoindicatetheneedtoclean/replacethefilters.
BypressingtheResetbutton ,the200htimecanbereset.N.B.Accidentallypressingtheresetbuttonbeforethe200hoperationcycledoesnotresultinthefilterbeingresetinthefiltercleaningmemory.Itisgoodpracticetocleanthegreasefiltersandreplacetheactivecarbonfiltersevery200hofoperation.

Particular attention should be paid to themetalgreasefilterpanels.Theaccumulationofgreaseinside the filter panels as well as affecting theperformance of the extractor, can also create afirehazard.Inordertominimisetheriskoffire,thefiltersmustbe cleaned regularly, at least once a month orwithgreaterfrequencyinthecaseofaparticularlyintensiveuseoftheappliance.Afteridentifyingyourhoodmodel,removeonefilteratatimeasshowninthenextfigure.Thoroughlywashfilterswithamilddetergenteitherbyhandor inthedishwasher.Replacethefilters,makingsurethatthehandleisontheoutsideofthehood
Thecarbonfiltersarecapableofretainingodoursuntilthecarbonreachessaturationlevel.Theycannot bewashed and they are not renewable,therefore, it is recommended to replace thematleasteverysixmonthsormoreoftenifthehoodisusedoften.Beforestartingoperationsmakesuretheelectricalpowersupplytothehoodisdisconnected.Accesstheactivecarbonfiltersbyremovingthemetalfiltersasdescribedabove.Withthehelpofthefigures,identifythecarbonfilterskitsuppliedwiththehood.Inthecaseofthediscfilter,simplytiltthetwofiltersby90°asshownin(fig.A)andthenextractthemfromtheirhousing.In the case of a cartridge filter attached withsprings, (fig.B) exert the pressure required tocounteract theresistanceof thespringand thenremovethefilter

Beforeperforminganymaintenanceand/or cleaning always disconnectthehoodfromthepowersupplyDepending on the model, the hood can beequippedwithdifferenttypesoflighting,withLEDorhalogenlamps:
a)WITHLEDLIGHTS:TheLEDlightsguaranteea significant number of hours of operation.Shoulditbereplaceduetobeingwornorfaulty,the entire spotlight must be replaced.
