Location Examples of other Horror film locations and why I chose mine.

The Blair Witch Project

✤ The Blair Witch project was mainly filmed in woodland areas, there is a commonly shared fear associated with woods and forests which could be a reason as to why they chose this scenery. At the beginning of the film however they are in the countryside driving to the forests and pass windy country roads and endless greenery, this creates a feeling of isolation and we as viewers already feel as if the characters are lost.

Friday The 13th

✤ Friday The 13th is set in a woodland/forest area surrounded my open space, creating a dark feeling of fear amongst the audience along with insignificance created by the large open fields.

My Location

✤ I chose to set my opening sequence in what appears to be a dark woodland area with dim lighting to create an eery effect and cause tension amongst the audience as due to the lighting its difficult to anticipate what is coming and to have full familiarity with the location. Parts of it are set in a psychiatrists office also with dim lighting from a desk lamp, to contribute to the dark atmosphere of the scene.
