Location Scouts The majority of my music video will be shot in a school/sixth form environment because of the nature of the storyline for the video. Below is a list of the locations I have chosen, why I chose them, what would happen there and a visual representation. Corridors Corridors are very commonly associated with school stories and can therefore be associated at first sight. They can also connote a journey because they are used to travel between two places. My main female character will be seen in the corridors, usually alone, however it will also be a location for my artist to sing while walking down the corridor. Outside I hope to feature many scenes out here as it is a common ground for all of my characters to be equal. I also imagine the pivotal final scene with my main character growing in confidence to happen out here as there is space to shoot her and the artist with a significant distance between them.

Location Scouts

The majority of my music video will be shot in a school/sixth form environment because of the nature of the storyline for the video.

OutsideI hope to feature many scenes out here as it is a common ground for all of my characters to be equal. I also imagine the pivotal final scene with my main character growing in confidence to happen out here as there is space to shoot her and the artist with a significant distance between them.

ClassroomThis will be a key location for some scenes involving my main character and the girls who exclude her due to its nature of being instantly recognisable as a school location and therefore setting the scene for the storyline.

ToiletsAt one point my female character will become upset and eventually decide that they can’t take it anymore and then slam a toilet door as she runs and hides, using an actual bathroom will make it more realistic and true to life.

Common RoomThe common room will be a useful location for displaying the idea of isolation as it is always so busy and full of movement – this will also be difficult due to organising a large amount of people who may also not want to be filmed.

BedroomOften when people are excluded they can turn to their bedrooms for comfort and therefore become even more excluded by trying to spend all of their time alone. My main character’s bedroom will be essential as it will be where she prepares for her day and where she has her realization that something needs to happen whilst watching Ferris Bueler.

PathMy main character’s house is always the place she longs for due to not feeling like she is a part of her school and therefore she often rushes to get home, I intend to shoot a scene of her running up the drive in desperation to get home.

Dining RoomI will be using this location to create a timelapse which connotes that my character is isolated from all of the people moving around her.

School Drive

This will be used as a location for my character to walk up on her various journeys and to connote a school atmosphere.
