However, the holidays usually make it hard to stay indoors long.

We are in the middle of the holiday season which can be hectic and stressful. There are more people in the stores, on the roads and everyone is rushing to get things done. It is so easy to get caught up in all the emotions of the craziness. I say to myself every year that I will get done shopping early but usually end up rushing to nd the last-minute gift.

Making happy memories and setting traditions for your family can be a great part of the festivities and make the running worthwhile. Being with family is the best part about the holidays for me. Time goes so fast, the kids grow up, and parents grow old but, in that moment, sitting there with everyone enjoying the conversation, laughter and stories, time seems to stand still.

May you all have a wonderful & Merry Christmas and a safe and joy- lled New Year!!

Hi! Growing up I remember having more snow days or very cold days of winter than we have had in a while. Schools would close due to ice on the roads or gas curtailments and we would spend the day playing outdoors in the snow or ice not once even thinking about how cold it was.

As I’ve grown older, I appreciate the warmth of the indoors much more than the cold. Unless it’s for football or a bon re you’ll nd me inside. I turn to things of comfort like hot chocolate, making pots of chili, soup or stew, watching movies or reading a good book wrapped in a soft blanket and fuzzy socks.

RVOS Farm Mutual Insurance

Letter from the President

Merry Christmas and Svátecní pozdravy,

I hope that each of you are having a Happy Holiday season and are looking forward to a Merry Christmas. Here's wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year in 2020 from all of us at the RVOS Farm Mutual Insurance Group of Companies.

All year round and especially during the holidays, we should all be thankful for what we have and that we live in America, where we celebrate freedom and each have a voice through the election process. A special thank you goes out to our armed forces and veterans, past and present, for making that possible.

It has been a very busy fall with the local lodges holding their annual membership socials and meetings. These lodge events are what make a farm mutual insurance company so unique unlike most larger insurance companies where the policyholder is just a statistic. As a member policyholder, by attending your annual local lodge meeting you also have a voice in how the company business is carried out because you are also an owner of the company. Lodge members have input and vote on helping their communities through donations, scholarships and the sponsoring of local events. You elect of cials to represent you on the Board of Directors and Bylaw Committee.

District meetings were scheduled to elect member representation in District 1 and District 3 in October. Delegates elected by the membership for representation at the 2018 General Convention, and who serve between Conventions, attend these meetings on your behalf to ll the elected positions. There were no contested races in District 1 for Director, Alternate Director, Bylaw Committee or Alternate Bylaw Committee and so voting was

completed by mail in ballots. The District 3 meeting was held in Rosenberg and the Delegates elected and lled all the before mentioned positions. See the results and who the elected of cials are for each district in this publication.

As we wind down 2019 here at the Home Of ce, our year-end nancial results are projected to have a positive outcome despite twelve major weather events that occurred over the past twelve months. RVOS capital reserves are projected to be the highest in the 118-year history of the Company. The Financial Stability Rating (FSR) has been con rmed for 2020 as A Exceptional.

We are pleased to announce the availability of our new customer portal at MyRVOS.com. This allows our insureds electronic access to policy documents, billing and pay history, claims information and more. You will be able to create your own online account that is available around the clock. Additional information on how to set up your account is included on page 15 of this edition.

Your membership as a policyholder is appreciated by all of us here at RVOS and we hope that the service we provided to you over the past year in protecting your valuable property met your expectations. We look forward to serving you again in the upcoming year.

Bets Regards and Št' astný nový rok,
