MACSALAB Rolls Crushers are designed for secondary reduction after jaw crushing. These smooth roll crushers will rapidly reduce coal, ore and hard rock from a maximum feed size of 20mm to fine sand. Ruggedly constructed & easy to operate. Breakage of material is by nipping action with minimal fines generated. Fluted rolls are also available for both units.

The 200 Cross Beater Lab Mill is used for crushing: - Coal - Chemicals - Spices - Bricks - Soil - Grain - Ores & Minerals - Concrete and many more materials in the medium hard range. Once the material is fed into the feed chute, it quickly flows into the mill grinding chamber where it is pulverised against the chamber lining by impact with the fast moving hardened hammers. Once the particles reach the required size they are discharged through interchangeable screens into the collection bag or receptacle.

MACSA Impact Hammer Mills are specially designed and fabricated for the reduction of medium to hard friable materials. Machines can be designed & manufactured with different combinations of hammers, screens, motors & housings to suit your specific application and requirements. Test work can be conducted on your product sample at our on-site facility. Test work is used to select and size appropriate machines and can include through-put tests, milling tests and particle size distribution analysis. Final product size is defined by product, feed rate, fixed rotor speed and screen size. The dynamically balanced rotors can be fitted with the following beater configurations:
• Three replaceable hard-faced swing beaters mounted on swinger plates
• Multiple replaceable hard-faced swing hammers mounted on three separate beater pins The mill housing is fully lined with replaceable liner plates.

The MACSA Industrial Hammer Mills are robustly constructed for use with animal feed, abattoirs, chemical plants or for processing of waste products. It is normally used with 6mm thick hammers. The top housing can be supplied with liners or cutting plates for fine grinding. Bases are available for either gravity or suction pneumatic discharge. Suction pneumatics are recommended for product size of 3mm or less. Rotors are dynamically balanced and can run at 1450 to 3000 RPM. The MACSA Industrial Hammer Mills feature easily removable beater pins and screens.

Variously known as a Barrel Mill, a Swing-Mill, a Ring Mill or a Stone & Disc Mill, this highly efficient grinding machine comprises a steel vessel containing a solid steel bar (stone) and one or two steel rings which oscillate with a rotary motion to grind materials from approximately 10mm lumps down to powders finer than 50 microns. A particular feature of the MACSALAB Barrel Mill is that operation is dust free and, due to its ease of cleaning, the ground product can be fully recovered.
The 100cc & 250cc vessels are quickly and securely clamped to the machine by means of cam-action levers and swing-arms, and the oscillating motion is imparted to the vessels by mean s of a specially designed out-of-balance drive mechanism The unit is supplied with a sound-proof cabinet, which also contains a motor starter and timer.
A Six-pot Barrel Mill utilizing 6 x 100cc grinding vessels is also available.
MACSA LUMP BREAKERS The MACSA Lumpbreaker is a single- or double rotor crusher designed and manufactured in various sizes with replaceable grid screens. Lumpbreakers are used for general crushing and fragmenting of compact materials and are also ideal for easily breaking up lumpy and caked materials.

MACSA FINGER CRUSHERS MACSA Finger Crushers are of the double rotor type designed for breaking lumps of moderately hard materials, especially those tending to agglomerate in storage. Stainless Steel models are also available for food handling. Unit can be supplied with hardened wear parts when crushing harder, abrasive materials. Various sizes are available.
Grinding vessels can be supplied in Chrome Steel or Carbon Steel as standard, with Tungsten Carbide vessels being available on special order.
MACSALAB Rod / Ball Mill Vessels are available in 304 & 316 Stainless Steel, Rubber-liner Mild Steel as well as Ceramic (Alumina). Rods are available in Stainless Steel and Arlicite. MACSALAB Cascade Splitters are widely used in mining laboratories and refineries for free flowing material. The Cascade Splitter comprises a Stainless Steel feed hopper (i.e. 20, 10 or 5 litre capacity to client’s choice), vibrating feeder with variable speed control, Steel sample cutter and Stainless Steel 1 litre collection cups, as standard. Material contact parts are of Stainless Steel to ensure a smooth flow of material with no hang-ups and minimum sample segregation. Vibrating feeder provides an accurately controlled feed rate from zero to maximum setting and the dividing spider ensures precise separation from cup to cup with no spillage. The carrier table rotates at a constant speed and is provided with a slip clutch for operator safety. The base is of powder coated Carbon Steel. Specially designed units with larger hoppers & collection cups as well as different amounts of cups can be supplied on request.
For use in laboratories needing to split small samples. MACSALAB Micro Splitter comprises a 500ml hopper, vibratory feeder tray and 8-way or 16-way rotary Aluminium sample cutter using thick wall glass tubes, 50ml capacity. The Mild Steel base of the unit is powder coated. Feed rate and rotational speed are both adjustable to suit the product being sampled.
The MACSALAB ranges of low cost manual Rifflers (Jones Type) are easy to operate and designed for use in general laboratory work for bulk material. Rifflers are constructed from Mild Steel and are supplied with a stand and 3 collection bins as standard. Select unit with slot width at least 3 times maximum particle size. Variations are also made to order and include special materials like Stainless Steel and multiple stack units.
MACSALAB ES-200 ELECTROMAGNETIC SHAKERS The unit is designed to handle 200 mm diameter test sieves (8 full height or 16 half height) plus the necessary lid and receiver. Features include quick release knobs, variable amplitude, intermittent or continuous operation facilities and a 0-99 minute push button timer. A wet washing kit is also available including a lid fitted with a spray nozzle, wet washing receiver and rubber ‘o’ rings. MACSALAB MS-300 MECHANICAL SHAKERS Able to handle 200 mm & 300 mm diameter test sieves. This unit employs a unique shaking action. The intermittent rotary action, combined with vertical movement and angular mounting, imparts a rotary as well as a rolling action to particles. The bottom knock helps clear the screen and lifts the particles, especially on the finer screens.
MACSALAB MS-450 GYRATORY SIEVE SHAKERS Able to handle 300 mm & 450 mm diameter test sieves. The unit is driven by a vertically mounted off-balance electric motor, which has eccentric weights attached to the motor shaft-end. The position of the weight can be adjusted to accelerate the sieving action. An extensive range of SABS approved 200, 300 & 450 mm diameter Test Sieves are available with various wire mesh & square hole perforated plate apertures.

The MACSALAB Drum Mixer has been developed to meet increasing demand for a low cost batch mixer for homogenising, dyeing, etc., particularly in smaller industries or for frequent product changes as required. Advantages of a drum mixer compared to a conventional mixer are:-
• Avoids undue handling of dusty or tonic products
• Hoop can be used for transporting drum
• Accepts 100 and 220 litre drums
• Very little physical effort is required to change drum
• No need for drum hoists, cradles, etc.
• No time or materials lost when changing products
MACSALAB Cone Blenders are designed for gentle mixing of dry, powdered and granular materials, specifically where cones are loaded and discharged after mixing at various locations within the manufacturing plant. Cones can be lifted from the drive unit and transported on specially designed trolleys to and from the blender unit. The unit is also useful for product storage. Applications: Pharmaceutical, Food, Chemical, Ceramic Industries, PGM Refineries & Sampling Systems Features: • Minimal cleaning time – each unit may be repeatedly used for same product. • Available in 100, 200, 350, 500 and 750 litre units.
MACSALAB Vee Blenders have been designed with the laboratory environment in mind. The Vee-shaped mixing chamber is of grade 304 Stainless Steel. Supports and stand is of Mild Steel. Mixing chamber can also be supported between two Mild Steel cabinets finished in high-gloss enamel. The drive and electrical equipment are totally inclosed in the cabinets, presenting a neat, easy to clean appearance.
The Filter Presses comprise a fabricated steel base and yoke with a Grade 304 Stainless Steel vessel as standard. Vessels of Grade 316 Stainless Steel are available on special order. A quick release air coupling is supplied as standard as is a filling / pressure release valve. MACSALAB Filter Presses are extensively used in mining and metallurgical laboratories for dewatering slurries, separating solids from liquids, etc. In operation the sample is placed in the vessel, the lid clamped shut and compressed air applied at approximately 600 kPa. The liquid drains through a discharge nozzle in the base of the vessel, leaving the dry solid inside. Variations include: 1) Stands for single or multiple Filter Presses, with or without piping etc. 2) Swivel stands with larger sizes utilizing worm-gear operated gearboxes for easy discharge Available sizes are 1.0, 2.4, 5.5, 9.7, 15.2, and 21.9 litres but Special designs can also be manufactured to customers’ requirements.

Eriez Magnetic Hand Test Samplers are manufactured in Stainless Steel. A sliding magnet permits quick and easy separation for laboratory as well as on-plant tests. Units are available with the following magnets:

• With magnet fully inserted in housing, place end in tailings stream for ± 10 seconds
• Remove unit and examine magnetic particles adhering to the unit.
• Extract plunger to remove magnetic particles.

The Eriez Magna Chute is used for the determination of Magnetite or Ferro-Silicon losses in Wet Drum Separator Tailings. Units are available with the following magnets:
• BaFe
• R.E. INSTRUCTIONS
• Pour 1 litre of W.D.S. Tailings over the tray when flat and in contact with the magnet.
• Carefully wash off Coal / Non-Mags that become entrapped in Mags (magnetic particles)
• Raise tray to upper position away from magnet
• Wash off Mags
• Collect, dry and weigh Mags
Optional extras for the unit include Adjustable Stainless Steel Feed Hoppers (as shown in picture)
Beaters, Hammers, Rolls ERIEZ Beaters hammers and rolls for several different makes of mills. Different materials and designs to suite client’s requirements. Screens ERIEZ manufactures mill screens fabricated from wedge wire, perforated or conidure plate. Screens are available in many different materials and aperture sizes. Rotors ERIEZ manufactures new rotors and beater pins using high tensile steel shafts and fully balanced rotor plates for several different makes of mills. Macsa/Macsalab was formed in 1980 and is, since 1989, an incorporation of
Eriez Magnetics (South Africa) (Pty) Limited. It specializes in design, fabrication
and manufacture of process plant and laboratory equipment for the mining,
chemical, food, pharmaceutical, recycling, agriculture and animal feed
industries.
