Chair and Speakers The seminar Chair is Robin Nicholas, Leader of the Mycoplasma Group, at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency (Weybridge). Robin is a member of the FAO and EU groups of experts on contagious bovine pleuropneumoniae. He has been a member of the Mycoplasma Expert Group for the European Pharmacopoeia since 2000 and was appointed Mycoplasma Advisor to the EU expert on the VICH Expert Working Group on biologicals in 2006. The speakers are: Sandra Jainandunsing, Manager Method Development & Validation, Millipore. Sandra has set up the new molecular biology unit within Millipore’s MicroSafe Services. One of the first assays to be validated and transferred to routine operation was Nucleic Acid Technology (NAT) testing for mollicutes according to the EP. Joachim Regel, European Technology Manager, Millipore. Joachim has 15 years experience in filtration & separation technologies, 10 years of this in the pharmaceutical industry. Millipore is a Life Science leader providing cutting-edge technologies, tools, and services for bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Helena Windsor, Director, Mycoplasma Experience. Helena is a member of the PDA Mycoplasma Working Party and of the International Organisation for Mycoplasmology where she is currently team leader of the cell culture/diagnostics team of the IRPCM. Mycoplasma Experience specialises in the culture of mollicutes and supplies testing services and high quality culture media to the biotech industry. Alison Smith, Pharmaceutical Marketing Manager, Oxoid Ltd. Alison is a member of the Parenteral Drug Association Mycoplasma Working Party. Oxoid are the world leading brand in pharmaceutical microbiology and part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Steve Spencer, Immunologicals Assessor, Veterinary Medicines Directorate. Steve is a member of the Immunologicals team at the VMD, responsible for the assessment of applications from manufacturers of veterinary immunological products for UK Marketing Authorisations. Eastwood Hall is centrally located, within easy reach of Nottingham city, 17 miles from East Midlands Airport and just five miles from the M1. Set in 26 acres of the Nottinghamshire countryside, Eastwood has been purpose-built to provide superb conference facilities and 4-star cuisine.

The cost of accommodation is not included in the seminar fee.
