Chavez. Students will take the #10 or #16 bus and meet at 10:50am at The Potter’s House School for the community march. Students will be provided lunch following the march. After lunch students will return to school for the remainder of the day.

Student Spotlight
Congratulations to Jessica Sepulveda, Sonya Chavez, Ivan Camarillo and Jasmine
Regalado for winning $500. 00 MI-CAPP endowment scholarships . Jessica received
the highest score out of 42 TRIO student applicants across the state of Michigan and
received an additional $1,000.00. To be considered for this scholarship students
were required to complete an application, prepare a one page essay and provide a
nomination form . Way to go!
Experiments Study Scavenger Hunt
Resume Workshop
On January 28, Upward Bound students participated in a
resume building workshop on the downtown campus of Grand Valley.
The facilitators started off the workshop with an icebreaker game
called “Heads Up.” The game helped the students get comfortable with
one another and also with the facilitators. The students were then
introduced to the importance of having and making a resume. They
were shown tips and examples of what makes a good resume. This
workshop offered the students an opportunity to understand the
qualities of a good resume and it also offered them an opportunity to
chat with resume experts from the career center . A big thank to you
the Delta Tau Lambda sorority for sponsoring this event.

Valentine Sale
Students at Union and Innovation Central held Valentine Day sales during their lunch periods on 2/14. Students sold cookies and red carna-tions to fellow students and school staff. The
fundraiser was a great success.
Special thank you to Yusuf, Marisa, Arlaina, Petrona and Jasmine A.for coming to the UB office to package and label all the cookies !
