The beautiful days of May are here!! I have such wonderful memories of growing up and May days! It meant opening windows on warm days and feeling the wonderful air coming in. My fa-

ther grew spring flowers on the side of the house and would bring some in every evening for the dinner table. And of course it also meant that school was almost out, and that felt good! I hope you also have good memories of springtime! I miss those childhood years, but am glad to be able to make new memories! The retreat this year was fabulous, as usual! Everyone seemed to enjoy the classes they took as well as all of the fun activities that were offered! The boardwalk games on Saturday night were so much fun and generated a lot of excitement! Thank you to the committee for a fun and well organized weekend! The project after the May meeting is a watercolor piece taught by Gayle Laible. The bridge and the water depicted create such a calm feeling. Please consider staying after the meeting for this class! And bring a friend!! Linda

May Program Report Emily Stamm, VP Programs

Its May-such a busy month-theres always so much to do in May! Happy Mothers Day!! Happy Graduation! Plant your flowers-cut the grass-plan your vacation-end the school year!

Since there was no meeting in April, and I wasnt able to attend retreat, I feel like painting and hope you do too! Our May 17th meeting, (I am sure that you will remember, but our May meeting is on the 3rd Sunday because Mothers day is on our usual meeting date.) is going to be a good one!! Gayle Laible will be treating us to a wonderful water-color painting class in May called My Favorite Bridge. If youve painted with Gayle, then you know this will be a fun class! If this is your first class with Gayle, then make sure you do not miss it. Gayle is so entertaining-she makes watercolor so easy-it will be an afternoon of fun for all!!! Please look for the photo of the project and sign up sheet in this newsletter. The project was displayed at retreat and it looked amazing! Send your registration to me-email me or call me to let me know that you plan to attend!

GCDA Service Update Peggy Hermes, Coordinator

In the April Newsletter I wrote the wrong address for the Matt Maupin Service Project. Pat sent an email with the right address and here it is again. It is Yellowribbonsupport.com. We will be collecting items under Health and Beauty and Miscellaneous. We want to donate only non-perishable items; things with a long shelf life. Keith Maupin is coming to our Sept. Meeting to pick up our donations. I invited him to eat lunch with us beforehand. You can bring your items that day or you can bring them to the June and July Meetings since I will not be at the May Meeting. I can keep them for you until Sept. Any questions please email me.

We are also continuing with the Walker Bag Project. We will be painting them as a group at the October Meeting or you can paint them at home at your convenience. We have 19 completed and we need to paint 31 more. They will be at the next 3 meetings if any of you want to paint them at home. These will be donat-ed to the Starfire Council of Cincinnati.
