HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?

By Leah Simmons

RESEARCH AND PLANNING

Initially, the majority of my blog posts for my research and planning stages were constructed in Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint as I saw it as the easiest platform to access but there are many different ways within these software programs to manipulate the information to make it look both affective and intriguing, these would consist of either making lists, mind maps and questionnaires.

After looking back through my earlier posts, it came to my attention that they all looked fairly using different platforms to make my blog seem more interesting. For example I changed my mood board of location shots to a video with different transition which I created on Animoto, which helped me develop my skill on different media platforms when constricting other posts and media products.

Another post that I changed was my institution case study of Sony Music Entertainment as it was a mind map that I created on Microsoft PowerPoint but found website online that made my mind map look more professional and it was free and easy to use making it a great platform to use.

The post I put the most work in was my shot list for my production as without out this I would be completely lost when filming my production. This was made on Microsoft Excel which was the easiest and most effective way of creating a table which consisted of the shot number, the camera angle being used, how long the shot lasts for, what happens in the shot and what props are being shown in the shot (also this table was colour coordinated to help distinguish between the real time and which shots where flashbacks, helping me organize different costumes for different times).

Another media technology that I used was my iPhone as we were filmed as we sat with our teacher and spoke about our initial ideas for what we was going to produce in the foreseeable future. However, there were a few faults by using this device as the sound was fairly quiet and my memory ran out so I had to quickly delete some content and upload it to YouTube in two different parts.
