As the Environmental Manage-

ment Bureau Region IVA push forth to

transcend the quality of its outputs as

well as to develop the skill of its human

resource that could benefit the operation

of the office, a three (3) day technical

workshop was conducted this 4th Qtr

2016 as a refresher for its personnel.

Lecture regarding Rules on Evidence and Investigation

and Monitoring Protocol were those of the main highlights

for the 1st day which was discussed by Atty. Ramero Osorio

and Joe Amil Salino, respectively. Aside from this, a lecture

on the essentials and Common errors on Grammar were deliv-

ered by Ms Rysa Deron, OIC, EEIS. Her lecture was tied with

consecutive workshops and activities conducted to make sure

that everyone has a similar grounding and understanding be-

fore they could proceed to the techniques and guidelines of

technical writing.

On the second day, Basic Techniques and Guidelines

on Technical Writing were discussed by Ms. Deron followed

by another workshop to evaluate their understanding and

lectures presented. In addition to this, to

further bulk up their understanding on the

standard operating protocols of the office

and to keep them up to date on every-

one’s operations, the following were dis-

cussed: Updates on CNC and ECC On-

line Application by Robert Angelo M.

Metin, OIC, Clearance and Permitting

ting Section; PTO On-line Application by Engr. Adonis T. Tomaro, OIC,

Water and Air Permitting Section; and Legal Writing/Forms/NOVs by

Faina C. Ifurung, REA/MIS/Legal Officer. An activity was later given by

Ms Ifurung on Legal Writing/Forms/NOVs to evaluate whether they had

a good grasp of the discussion.

On the third and final day of the seminar/workshop, the identified

focal persons discussed the following to the participants: P.D. 1586 EIA

System (Mr Metin); R.A. 8749 Clean Air Act (Engr Tomaro); R.A. 9275

6969 Toxic Substances and Hazardous (Engr. Malabana).

Based on the outputs from the activ-

ity, it is safe to say that the person-

participants (of EMB4A) have ac-

quired new knowledge or if not

have developed a re-

freshed outlook and per-

spective on their functions,
