Thank ouMy brother, Garry Brown, died on

March 8th, 2013 at Gillis House.There are a few people I would like to

extend my thanks and gratitude to: allthe nurses at Gillis House who lookedafter him everyday and kept his spiritsup, and kept him comfortable. He toldme everyday that he couldn't have askedfor a better place to spend his final days.

To all of his friends who spent timewith him in and out of the Gillis House:Mary, Marie, Sue, Tom and David. I

would like to also thank all the homecare for coming into his home and mak-ing it a little easier for him to have hislast bit of independence and dignity.

It is hard to loose a sibling to such anevil disease but you all made Garry's lastmonths more tolerable.

Vancouver Piano

EnsembleOn Saturday, Apr. 6, 7:30pm, the NVCommunity Arts Council presents thefinal concert in this years concert series the VPE, as it is commonly known,dedicated to the promotion and perform-ance of multi-piano music.

They will play Merritts own grandpiano, and thanks to a donation fromMerritt Rotary, a second Grand has beenengaged for the performance.

Each member is a solo and chambermusic artist in their own right. The groupwas formed in 2000 and has performedat various venues in Greater Vancou-ver, Victoria, Langley, Abbotsford, andfurther afield, in Germany, Austria, Slo-vakia, Italy, China and Singapore.

In 2001, 2004, 2009 and 2011, the VPE,in collaboration with the renowned

Baynov Piano Ensemble from Germany,played concerts for various combina-tions of pianists, including up to 32hands on eight grands. In 2002, the VPEwas invited to open the Third Interna-tional Competition for Piano 6 Hands inMarktoberdorf, Germany. In addition,the Vancouver Airport Expansion Projectinvited the VPE to be featured for theirgrand opening with a special two pianogala right in the airport waiting area.

Individual members of the VPE haveperformed concerts in various cities bothnationally and internationally. In additionthe VPE has produced two successful CDs,which have been played on national radioand various country-wide programs.

This weekends program has been es-pecially compiled for the Merritt audi-ence. Tickets are available at Blacks,

Mandolins, Baillie House and at the door.
