Christmas, 2019. My how the months fly by, and pretty soon it is the years that fly by.

This has been a difficult year for the many people impacted by flooding, too much rain apart from flooding, and poor weather for harvest-ing.

I hope and pray that you and your family has not been adversely affected by the weather.

Whether we can weather the storms of life is often a matter of faith. It is the presence of a strong faith life that can enable us to persevere during the difficult moments of life.

We can only imagine how difficult it was for Saint Joseph and the Blessed Mother to deal with what life presented them. —a virginal pregnancy and a despotic ruler with an exaggerated sense of importance and insecurity.

May this Christmas season find you with peace in your soul, harmony in your life, and the joy which only a newborn and precious baby brings to your heart.

The staff at Sacred Heart Church joins me in wishing you a blessed and happy family time this season, filled with the blessings of a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks to Virginia Bennett and the dedicated choir members and cantors who serve us so well in the celebration of the Eucharist. Sacred Heart Church appreciates the hours of prac-tice and service they offer the parish community. The parish is additionally grateful for the special music and musicians of these seasons of Advent and Christmas. Music is the universal lan-guage, and it is so nice when we can speak it well!

Parish-Wide Meal & Faith Enrichment Sessions On every first Wednesday of the month, the Faith Formation Office hosts a dinner in the McCann Center from 5:15 pm to 6:00 PM with a faith learning opportunity to follow in the church from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Our focus this year has been on the lives of the saints – particularly saints who have stood up for the Faith during times of trial and tribulation. As Catholics, we currently find ourselves living in very trying times in the Church and this is a great time to look to our heroes in the Faith; the saints, for examples of wisdom and

fortitude; trusting that the Lord has not left us alone in the boat during these difficult times (Mark 4:8).

Our next Faith Enrichment Session will be held on Wednesday, February 5th. If you have not attended one of these sessions in the past, please know that you are still welcome to join us in February. We hope to see you there!

Father Tom will preach at the weekend Masses and deliver a Mission Pres-entation Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings. Parish Mission Statement

We, the members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as a caring Christian community, help one another to live, to nurture, and to celebrate God’s gifts. We encourage others on their faith journeys to join us in giving witness to our Catholic faith and to grow as disciples. We celebrate the sacraments and receive the gift of grace to strengthen our faith and to enrich our relationships with Christ and his Church. We gather together to pray, to worship, to give thanks, to petition, to seek comfort, to share joys and sorrows, and to experience God’s love, joy, and peace.
