Berita MICCI highlights the latest initiatives and advocacy undertaken by the Chamber and its Councils on behalf of MICCI Members. The Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) successfully held its 28th Annual Conference in Kuala Lumpur from September 17 to 19, 2014, with the participation of some 300 delegates composed of leading businessmen from Malaysia and 22 Asia-Pacific countries. Organised in Malaysia for the first time by MICCI and co- hosted by MICCI and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia (NCCIM), the two-and-a-half day conference focused on the theme “Beyond 2020 : Asia Pacific As An Engine For Sustainable Growth”. This meeting of industry leaders and heads of national Chambers of Commerce was designed to provide a platform for the exchange of views on current market developments impacting the regions’ economies and explore opportunities for increased trade and investment. Experts from both government and private sector were invited to examine measures that could be taken to help attain sustainable growth in the next decade and beyond. The Conference addressed an array of global business issues that featured over 50 eminent speakers from leading economists to business leaders, and policy makers. Though the gathering was largely a focused business event, there was still ample opportunity for leisurely and fruitful networking opportunities. Delegates were also able to experience a unique blend of what Malaysia has to offer through a series of gala evenings that highlighted the nation‘s multiracial composition, culture and hospitality.
