Miss C’s Lesson Plans Grade 4/5/6 - Week SIX May 19 - 22 Ladies and gentleman… BOYS AND GIRLS … Did you say it? WOW! I really miss hearing your voices! How was your long weekend? I hope you got to enjoy some outdoor time on our beautiful North Island. I hope this week finds you healthy, happy and calm. I also hope that within the next week we might have some idea of what the rest of our school year looks like. That being said, PLEASE make sure you are finishing JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, your TIME CAPSULE PROJECT, and working on MATH. Your Time Capsule Project is so special. No one has lived through this. How you decide to put this together (on google docs, on a flashdrive, printed and put in a tin and then buried in your yard), is totally up to you. Maybe you just DO IT and send it to me, and that’s it. THAT IS GREAT! Let’s get to it. Writing COVID Time Capsule Project
Read over this assignment, decide what format you would like to use, and then start creating or typing in Google Docs.
Every week you must:
Write a Journal Entry (around 200 words OR one beautiful 5-6 sentence paragraph) I will NOT be counting words. Please do not stress.
Work on your CREATIVE RESPONSE THIS WEEK. I will be giving you a DUE DATE on this projet next week.
”CAN DO’S:”
VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP: This week I would love you to explore the San Diego Zoo! There are live streams of some very cute animals. How do you feel about Zoos?
Did you know a lot of them are rehabilitation centres for animals? Maybe write about this in your journal.
ART: Check out Mrs. Williams Art Page! See what she’s up to this week HERE!
DRAMA: If you are in ‘The Lion King JR.’ please continue to practice your lines. We will figure out a way to create something to present, or will postpone our
production until we can be together again.
PE/Health: As a means of ensuring both physical and mental/emotional well-being we are encouraging students to be physically active and, as much as possible, to
get outside! We would like them to enjoy the fresh air and be physically active for at least an hour or so a day. As another option, here is P.E. with Joe
UNFORTINATELY, we did not get to have “THE CHAT” yet this year. Check out this website for helpful information on Puberty: https://kidshealth.org/
GROWTH MINDSET JOURNAL: To help our students with their social emotional growth during this tricky time, please check out the Growth Mindset Journal. They are interesting topics to discuss. Your child could use this to journal about (getting their Time Capsule Journal done at the same time), or you could just talk
about these around the dinner table. Up to you.
