Cluster Parishes www.cpsswb.weebly.com God has set a race before each of us which involves effort and commitment to finish. Jesus stands with us at the starting-point, and earnestly says, ‘Let us run.’ Paul is just one of many running with us! Perseverance is needed - not the passive patience which sits down and accepts things but the active patience which masters them… the perseverance which goes steadily on and refuses to be deflected. Like Paul, we are called to finish our race with joy. When people and institutions disappoint us, may we continue to place our trust in God to transform our hearts and minds and help us to recognise the many ways He is always present in our lives. May God fill us with holy wisdom so that we act with integrity, humility and compassion. `Runner, when the race is won, you will run into His arms.’ Times of Services & Mass Intentions this week Vigils St Gregory 5.30 pm People of the Parish Sacred Heart 6.30 pm People of the Parish Sun TWENTIETH SUNDAY OF THE YEAR 18 St Bede’s 9.30 am Margaret Joy Aug St Gregory 9.30 am Dorothy Atkinson (GC) Ss Peter & Paul 10.30 am Patricia Rhodes St Oswald 11.00 am Evelyn Middleton St Bede 5.00 pm People of the Parish & Partnership Mon St Oswin, King & Martyr 19 St Oswald 9.00 am In Thanksgiving Aug Ss Peter & Paul 12.00 pm Priest’s Intention Tues St Bernard, Abbot 20 St Bede No Mass Aug St Oswald 11.30 am Requiem - Richard Bailey St Gregory 6.30 pm Priest’s Intention Wed The Dedication of St Mary’s Cathedral 21 Ss Peter & Paul 10.00 am Fr Austin Tomaney Aug Sacred Heart 10.00 am Anne Marie Smith St Bede No Mass Thu The Queenship of Mary 22 St Bede No Mass Aug St Vincent No Mass St Gregory 10.00 am Requiem - Andrew Fenwick Sacred Heart No Mass Ss Peter & Paul 7.00 pm Sick & Housebound Fri Weekday 23 St Oswald 9.30 am Intentions of Teresa Featherstone Aug Ss Peter & Paul 10.00 am Priest’s Intention St Gregory 12.00 pm Andrew Fenwick (SH) Sat St Bartholomew, Apostle 24 St Bede 10.00 am Tony Manson (A) Aug St Gregory 10.00 am Priest’s Intention Vigils St Gregory 5.30 pm Joe Green (PG) Sacred Heart 6.30 pm People of the Parish Sun TWENTY FIRST SUNDAY OF THE YEAR 25 St Bede 9.30 am John & Mary Connelly Aug St Gregory 9.30 am Fr Austin Tomaney (MB) Ss Peter & Paul 10.30 am Well being of John & Brenda Rutherford St Oswald 11.00 am Cathy & Bob Spinks St Bede 5.00 pm People of the Parish & Partnership TWENTIETH SUNDAY OF THE YEAR 18 AUGUST 2019 DIOCESE OF HEXHAM & NEWCASTLE Registered Charity No: 1143450 Catholic Parishes of South Shields, Whitburn & Boldon Clergy Fr.
