OnlineTutoringandHomeworkHelp:

Wenatchee High School has partnered with an online tutoring service to provide students with another opportunity for 1-on-1 homework help. This service allows students to work with a tutor at any time during the day or night (24/7). The service provides support for over 40 subject areas including all AP courses, and you will find that Spanish speaking tutors are available in math, science and social studies. When students login to the service, the amount of time they work with a tutor is deducted from the total hours that we have purchased. The time deducted is the same regardless of the subject area students choose, or the time of day students are accessing the service. So, we ask that the time is used wisely. The service may be used on a computer, tablet or smartphone and all correspondence is recorded within their system for the purpose of student safety. If you and/or your student is interested, use the following login information to begin. The website address is: www.tutor.com/whs Username: seven-digit student ID number -- Example: 0403154 Password: seven-digit student ID number -- Example: 0403154

Messages from the WHS Panther Career Center – Attn: Seniors! If you or your parents have employment ties to the Tree Fruit Industry (apples, cherries, pears), the Washington Apple Education Foundation has opened their scholarship application. There are two types of scholarships – one for students pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree, and another for students interested in a Technical or Vocational Career. Visit www.waef.org/scholarships for a full list of scholarships available. Applications for the fall 2018 Confluence Health High School Mentor Program are available now in the Career Center. If you are interested in a medical career, this is an opportunity to be mentored and job shadow a professional in your specialty of choice. Application Deadline is Friday, Sept. 28, at noon. The PSAT is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the WHS Auditorium. Information on registration will be available soon. The cost of the test is $16.00 and space is limited.

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19, in the WHS Auditorium. Scores in four critical areas - Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge - count towards an Armed Forces Qualifying Test score if you are interested in the military. An interpretation of the test scores will follow.
