Dear Family of Holy Rosary, Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ (Corpus Christi Sunday). As we look at this mystery and sacrament, the meaning of Jesus Christ’s real presence in the form of bread and wine, we might think also about how we are taking care of His Body. Of course, I’m talking more here than just about the tabernacle or the sacred

vessels we use to distribute the Blessed Sacrament. Those seem dignified and beautiful to me. How, though, do we take care of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ as a church body? as an individual part of the Body of Christ? What about in our homes? Here are some questions we can ask ourselves:

*Do I frequent the sacraments, especially of the Eucharist and Reconciliation? These sacraments provide strength, healing and wholeness for us as individual members of Christ’s body, which in turn strengthens us as the Church. *Do I serve as Christ served? Are our bodies directed toward oth-ers? Christian life without service makes no sense at all. Can I serve my community better? *Are we as a parish family well-connected, working as a unit, as One Body? Do we participate or just observe when we attend Mass? Do we exercise good communication at home and at church? *Are we hospitable as Christ was: as individuals, as a parish? Do I welcome those who are different? Do I help strangers feel at home? Do I smile at church? *Are we reverent in the presence of God Among Us in and out of the building of the church? Am I teaching my children and grandchildren proper church etiquette? Am I teaching them how to be welcoming, respectful and hospitable to others?

Our celebration of Corpus Christi can be an opportunity to deepen our bonds to God and one another as we celebrate what it means to be a Eucharistic people. Fr. Jim

Prayers for the Sick / Oración por los Enfermos

Querida familia de Santo Rosario, Hoy día celebramos Corpus Christi, la Solemnidad del Cuerpo y San-gre de Cristo. Es un tiempo en que meditamos en lo que significa la presencia de Jesucristo bajo la forma de pan y vino, pero también como nosotros cuidamos el Cuerpo de Cristo en nuestras vidas. No estoy hablando simplemente de la presencia de Jesucristo en el sagrario, el tabernáculo, sino como lo cuidamos en la iglesia y en nuestras familias. Entonces, ¿cómo cuidamos el Cuerpo de Cristo como individuales, familias e iglesia? Aquí hay algunas preguntas que pueden ayudarnos en esta reflexión: *¿Participo frecuentemente de los sacramentos, especialmente la Eu-caristía y la Reconciliación? Los sacramentos nos nutren, nos forta-lecen y nos sanan para formar un Cuerpo de Cristo vivo, sano y fuerte. *¿Sirvo a los demás como lo hizo Cristo? El cuerpo de Cristo tiene que ser dirigido al servicio. ¡No tiene sentido ser católico y no servir! ¿Puedo servir a mi Iglesia como lector, ministro/a de hospitalidad, ministro/a de comunión o monaguillo/a? *¿Como familia parroquial, funcionamos unidos como un solo cuerpo? ¿Participo en la Misa o solo la observo? ¿Practicamos buena comunicación en la casa y en la iglesia? *¿Somos acogedores como individuales tanto como parroquia? ¿Doy la bienvenida a los nuevos parroquianos? *¿Mostramos reverencia a la presencia de Cristo en la iglesia, y afue-ra? ¿Estoy enseñando a mis hijos como deberían portarse en la iglesia? ¿Estoy enseñándoles como ser respetuoso, acogedores, y servicial a los demás? La celebración de Corpus Christi puede ser una oportunidad para profundizar nuestra relación con Dios y con nuestros hermanos mientras aprendemos que significa ser una gente eucarística. P. Jaime

Anna-Marie Byrne, O.P.: 42 Years in Catholic Education

Anna-Marie (and for a long time her mother, Fran) have been leaders at Holy Rosary as members of the Dominican Laity, the Liturgy Committee and most recently, as music leaders at the 9:00 am Mass. But for 41 years, Anna-Marie has taught at our parish school, Holy

Rosary School, which is now Risen Christ School. Anna-Marie has now retired after a long and fruitful tenure of teaching our grade school children. Thank you Anna-Marie for your service to education and to our church. We are grateful for your enthusiastic service over the years. God bless you abundantly as you begin retirement!
