Example: "..... as demonstrated [3,6]. Barnaby and Jones [8] obtained a different result ...."

List: Number the references (numbers in square brackets) in the list in the order in which they appear in the text.

Examples: Reference to a journal publication: (use appropriate Journal abbreviation)[1] J. van der Geer, J.A.J. Hanraads, R.A. Lupton, The art of writing a scientific article, J. Sci. Commun. 163 (2000) 51–59.

write "as Jones (2004) points out", or "a recent study (Jones, 2004) shows". Every source you cite in your text -- and only those sources cited in your text – should be listed in the reference section

For two-author citations, spell out both authors throughout the text. In the case of multiple authors use "et al." For example, "Jones et al. (1995)", with a

period after "al". Give the full citation in the reference section; i.e., all the authors Do not use prefixes when listing your citations in the reference section (e.g. "Jr.",

"Sr.", etc.). Alphabetize all citations in the reference section. When alphabetizing your citations,

disregard apostrophes or spaces. For example, "D'Homme" would come before "Domsy" and after "De La Hoya".

Cite single authors before multiple ones. For example, you may have cites "Jones, 1999" and "Jones et al. 1999" in your text. In the reference section, "Jones, 1999" would be listed before "Jones et al. 1999".

Note: Reference section may be at the end of each chapter or at the end of all the Chapters preceding the Appendix/Appendices.

Candidates should follow throughout the Dissertation either Type_1 or Type_2 format.

If the candidates use any different format other than these, that standard format should be followed consistently throughout.
